The Sane Cattery: Because normal is overrated

The Sane Cattery: Because normal is overrated

Welcome to The Sane Cattery, the totally rational, completely normal place where we - totally sane humans - gather to admire our feline overlords. This is a judgment-free zone (unless your cat is the one doing the judging, which, let’s be honest, they always are). Feel free to share photos of your majestic moggies, chaotic kitties, and everything in between. Whether they’re plotting world domination, defying the laws of physics, or simply loafing like sentient bread, we want to see them. Because nothing says "sane" like dedicating an entire discussion to our tiny, furry dictators.

Allow me to begin...

Here is our oldest, Roughy who is 9.

Ryker, who is 7. Trying to convince himself he still fits in this thing like a glove!

And the latest edition, Luna (14 weeks)

...and another one of Luna, 'cause she's so damn cute.

I have been instructed to say that she was in no way stuck, and was just testing my responsiveness.

Hi @tyme, I'm still around and doing okay. After I completed my Cert IV Peer Work in December I figured I should keep on with the study so I'm started Uni doing Counselling. So I've been busy with that on top of all the other little things I do. I hope you're doing okay as well.

So glad to hear from you @MJG017 ! That is so so awesome to read that you are moving on to study counselling. The course is really great. I really enjoyed it over a psych degree 🙂 But that's what I think. Doesn't mean either is better/worse 🙂

Good on you.

Exciting news that you are now studying counselling, I hope that you are enjoying it. Referencing is so fun right? Bahahaha!!! Try not to put too much pressure on yourself.

Re: The Sane Cattery: Because normal is overrated

Thanks @Mustang67 he was a stray I started feeding. Years ago now. Finally got him desexed last year for a happier life.(he would disappear for days, nearly lost both eyes one at a time) asked on fb once if anyone had seen him. Someone said had been in their street all week (500 m away)I went for a walk one and there he was at end of said street perched on concrete pillar on someones front fence. He followed me home, stopping in gardens along the way

Re: The Sane Cattery: Because normal is overrated

@TAB I bet he is a great cat.

We currently have a stray that my sister has been feeding for some time now.

He is getting gamer, as the back door was left open a couple of weeks ago and he just wondered in and sat himself down on the kitchen floor. My cat is mainly an inside cat, and she wouldn't have been too happy to see him in her territory. She must have been asleep somewhere, as she obviously didn't see him, as she would have made sure that he wasn't inside the house any longer.

My cat has the unique ability to fit in and take over wherever she stays.

When I first became homeless and was living on a friend's sofa bed for six months, they had 3 cats and 11 dogs (pure breed Staffies), 3 of which stayed mainly inside. She got used to them all in no time and by the time we left, she would strut around like she owned the place and would tell the other animals off if they annoyed her. I even saw her take a gentle swipe at one of the dogs, just because he was in close range as he walked pass her.

And she has done the same thing at my mum's. They have 2 cats and the stray, and Cindy is the boss of all of them and often fights with "The Devil" cat if she comes too far into the house. Basically, according to Cindy, she is happy for them to eat their food in the laundry, but if they step foot into the kitchen area, she has something to say about it. Lol

Good on her @Mustang67 my cats have generally been the only one . when a kid had semi wild ones/ones that interracted with cats that were wild, they would always 'growl'ifyou came near it when food around. the last 3 Ive had over the years dont do that

Re: The Sane Cattery: Because normal is overrated

@TAB The Devil cat growls at you while she is eating. I always give her a very wide birth when letting her in or out of the house, as she is known to lash out at any moment and for any reason. And that's why I call her The Devil cat.
