Why can’t I pretend the pain isn’t real, maybe if I tell myself I’m okay and I don’t struggle with mental health I’ll be okay. Maybe if I tell myself that the traumatic memories aren’t real, then I can finally feel whole and less gross. Maybe I’ll just wake up from this dream soon and I’ll find peace within my mind when I do wake up. Maybe I’m okay, maybe there isn’t anything wrong with me
Sitting with this is hard. Maybe the body flashbacks are making the anxiety worse, I just can’t help but feel overwhelmed. Like I know it’s not happening, but my mind keeps going.
I’ll admit, maybe I am too attached to the idea of honor, and maybe that’s my downfall

Maybe it is my fault

Hello @creative_writer,
My gosh, feeling intense bodily sensations is so incredibly overwhelming, isn't it? I know they are quite prominent for you at the moment and that your thoughts are starting to chime in too... what is one thing that you know helps you to feel soothed? Even by 1%? Can we start there? 💛

@AuntGlow I think being under the covers helps me feel safer

@creative_writer yes, me too. What do you find comforting about it?

Re: Don’t want to accept the pain
@AuntGlow, the warmth of my bed and softness of the bedsheets. I love being curled up in bed during cooler weather. It feels like a warm hug in a way. Beds aren’t people, they won’t judge you

@creative_writer I love this, it definitely feels like a warm hug, doesn't it? Does anything else in your life stir a similar feeling?

@AuntGlow I also find comfort in my faith. It is kind of what keeps me going. I had urges to end it tonight, but my faith helped me resist

Re: Don’t want to accept the pain
@creative_writer I'm so glad to hear you have faith to turn to, and more importantly, I am glad that you are safe. 💛
So, we have comfy covers, faith... is there anything else you may need tonight to feel safe and soothed?

Re: Don’t want to accept the pain
@AuntGlow it’s been rough lately, and I’m struggling to see a way out. I have my psych appointment on Wednesday. I am also contemplating whether I should move my psychiatrist appointment earlier since med tolerance may also be playing a role, it’s just hard for me to make the call. Bipolar can feed cptsd and vice versa.
I think for tonight prayer, grounding and warm bed may help me feel safer. Feeling fully safe may not be realistic for now
