Something’s not right

Don’t want to accept the pain

Don’t want to accept the pain

Why can’t I pretend the pain isn’t real, maybe if I tell myself I’m okay and I don’t struggle with mental health I’ll be okay. Maybe if I tell myself that the traumatic memories aren’t real, then I can finally feel whole and less gross. Maybe I’ll just wake up from this dream soon and I’ll find peace within my mind when I do wake up. Maybe I’m okay, maybe there isn’t anything wrong with me

Re: Don’t want to accept the pain

@creative_writer maybe buzzing a crisis line just to vent some of it out?

Sometimes it helps me even to just rant into my voice recordings - sometimes as tho I am telling someone else what for, sometimes cos it helps me process my thoughts and feelings into a more cohesive narrative if I say them out loud. IDK food for thought!

@Jynx I’m not even sure talking about pressure will be helpful, it might make me over-fixate on what I’m feeling in my body.

I haven’t tried voice recordings, I might try that

@Jynx I’m not sure about settling. It’ll be what it is

@creative_writer that's a nice chill way of looking at it, I like it. Acceptance 😌

Hope tonight also brings you solace and much rest! Night hun, catch you next time!

Re: Don’t want to accept the pain

@Jynx I hope you were able to sleep well tonight. I woke up early, lots of adrenaline pumping in my system.

I don’t know if this is just me being weird. I find it very hard to connect to people. I don’t know if it’s a ND thing or an emotional maturity thing. Sometimes it’s easier to connect and feel comfortable with older people or at least people who are on the mature spectrum for their age

Re: Don’t want to accept the pain

@creative_writer I think it's a pretty common experience to struggle to connect, especially when we live with complex mental health. We can sometimes need a level of deep understanding and patience that folks who are inexperienced often cannot provide, or we might have misattuned/'odd' patterns of behaviour learned from surviving our experiences that now become barriers to connection.

You could always make a thread about it over in the Managing Relationships Space, cos I think it's an important topic!

Re: Don’t want to accept the pain

@Jynx I think living with complex mental health can make it difficult to connect. I am drawn to empathetic and understanding people.

It does however make it difficult to get support when needed. Still have inner restlessness and jittery. I don’t even know how to describe how I feel, but I don’t feel good

Re: Don’t want to accept the pain

@creative_writer gentle reminder to check in with all your basic needs hun - if you're feeling jittery, maybe some movement?

@Jynx I’ve been finding it hard to sit still, so been taking lots of walks all around the house. My body feels wrong right now. Can’t seem to make it feel right
