Why can’t I pretend the pain isn’t real, maybe if I tell myself I’m okay and I don’t struggle with mental health I’ll be okay. Maybe if I tell myself that the traumatic memories aren’t real, then I can finally feel whole and less gross. Maybe I’ll just wake up from this dream soon and I’ll find peace within my mind when I do wake up. Maybe I’m okay, maybe there isn’t anything wrong with me
@Former-Member my migraine is better today and has been overall better. Seem to be having partial body flashbacks, but it’s an improvement from before. I think I often disconnect from my body, I’m actually starting to wonder whether the body flashbacks occur more often, and that I just have learnt to disconnect and ignore. I didn’t realise I had discomfort in my body till now.
I am having a lot of anxiety about the new psych, but that’s probably normal

Re: Don’t want to accept the pain
@creative_writer glad the migraine is better today.
The partial body flashbacks are exhausting and overwhelming. It's definitely possible that you disconnect from them and are learning how to ignore them.
Completely normal to have anxiety about the new psych. But you already know that this is a psych that you wanted to see, and that she has the knowledge needed to help you.

Re: Don’t want to accept the pain
@Former-Member I’ve become so disconnected from my body, things like body scans trigger me, because it forces me to acknowledge what I’m feeling in the body. My brain prefer to not think about what I felt, but it’s very hard to ignore. I wish I could, but it keeps surfacing.
I lucky she agreed to see me. It’s still a very anxiety provoking experience to be vulnerable.

Re: Don’t want to accept the pain
@creative_writer i don't think it's ever possible to ignore it completely but learning how to manage it is.
Totally understand the anxiety over having to be vulnerable. Sending you lots of strength and calming vibes ❤️

Re: Don’t want to accept the pain
@Jynx honestly not great. I'm full of thoughts, feelings ands emotions. Feeling everything all at once and it's so incredibly overwhelming. I've been doing my Diamond art to keep myself busy which is somewhat working but I'm almost finished and then it's like what then!

Re: Don’t want to accept the pain
@Jynx it’s in a week and a half. It is very nerve wrecking for sure. A new person always is. Though I can start off slow.
@Former-Member I feel like I do a lot of disconnecting from my body to cope. Probably explains why I get periods of disassociation. I hope you feel better soon, I didn’t know you were in diamond art. I haven’t tried it myself, but art can be so soothing 💖

Re: Don’t want to accept the pain
@creative_writer it definitely would explain it. I can relate so much so I feel you.
Thanks. I'm into all sorts of crafts but I have a love/ hate relationship with diamond art 😂.
