Invisible and insignificant

Invisible and insignificant

Does anyone else ever feel invisible and insignificant?

Like you just don't matter, you could disappear and noone would even notice that you were gone.

Reaching out to get help only to be ignored and made to feel like your not worth anything.

To be told that you don't matter, your feelings don't matter, your existence is nothing but a burden on society.

I feel like i could stand in a crowd and scream at the top of my lungs and not one person would notice me, not one person would turn around to see what's going on.

I feel invisible, I feel like I'm insignificant, I feel like i don't matter, I feel worthless, I feel like such a failure.

It hurts so much to feel like this. Watching people happy and laughing with others. I question myself, why can't I have that, why can't I just have a friend, why can't I matter to someone, why can't I feel something other than pain and suffering.

Every day I fight to be heard, I fight to get help, I fight to stay alive, to keep my heart beating to keep breathing. But for what I'm not even sure anymore.

@Chrissy79 hello, honestly this has been most of my life but it's only gotten worse lately.

Hello @Former-Member and @MJG017 ,

It is both saddening to read your posts and heartening to see your unwavering support for each other.

I am lucky to have both parents be my biological ones. Yet things are very difficult with my father, to the point where my treating clinicians have asked questions like "Is your mother still with him?" and my GP even suggested cutting my Dad out of my life for the time being... I can't do that, I love him too much. And yet, sometimes life might be easier without him.

See this post for more detail: 'Send 'smooth-sailing' sentiments to Spirit_Healer'

So, as you can see, complicated relationships come in many different shapes and sizes.

@MJG017 , thank you for your bravery in sharing your story. I am sorry for your pain - emotional and physical. I continue to wish you the best.

@Former-Member , thank you for your support over the past few weeks that we've known each other here. Despite your emotional pain, you always seem to be able to hold my experience in your consciousness, and I am stronger for the support that you continue to provide me. Stay strong - we will be here for each other!

@Spirit_Healer thankyou for your kind words. We all have our own stories and all of us are fighting our own battles. But here we stand with each other to offer support and compassion ❤️.

@Former-Member

Do you ever get the feeling our universe got together with some other universes and ours picked us out just before we were born and said to the others "Look what I have happen to this one!" It feels like that sometimes! 😁

I appreciate our chats as well, even though I now know it's pointless giving you Christmas jokes, because you know all of them! 🤣 But i do know enough to see how much pain of your own you've had to endure and i'm sure we help each other and get that same feeling of being seen and significant by doing what we can to support people going through their own pain and hardships. Maybe that's what those other universes are saying to ours now. "Yeah, but look how they keep going and going, and all it does is make them want to help others that you've toyed with even more!"

I think if i had a motto i would get a tattoo of, it would be "live for the moment". It really is the only thing we have isn't it. We've lost the past and the future is never a guarantee so we live for the moment and just keep stringing as many moments together as we can.

Re: Invisible and insignificant

@MJG017 oh for real the universe definitely picked us out to give us hell 😂.

Hey you still stumped me on a few jokes and I still always enjoy the laughs. That's exactly right we have both endured so much and it makes us want to help others even more cos we know the pain that they are feeling. We can keep proving those universes wrong, show them that no matter what we will stand strong.

Love that motto 'live for the moment'. You reminded me that I need to get my next tattoo done of my babies paw print, I have my other 3 dogs paw prints on me already but haven't had the money to get hers done yet. We have definitely lost the past and the future is not guaranteed but we have these moments and many more to come still.

This is why I try to stay inside as much as I can these days... maybe the universe can't see me! 😁

I have quite a while to come up with some really tough Christmas jokes. I'll be ready. Even if I have to make them up myself! 🤣

I hope you can get those paws tattooed soon. It needs to be there with the others.

@MJG017 inside good, outside bad 😂.

Oh you might have a chance to challenge me. Maybe we should find some good Easter jokes 😂.

Yes she really does need to be with the others but I'm not sure there's enough room for hers to go next to theirs.

@Former-MemberWell that gives me a lot less time! They may just end up being Christmas jokes with snowmen and santa replaced with eggs and bunnies. I make no promises that they'll make any sense at all! 🤣

She's a dog, maybe she ran forward from the pack a little bit to lead them, and her prints are ahead of the others as a result.

Re: Invisible and insignificant

@MJG017 I'm not sure i even know of any Easter jokes so this could be your big chance to stump me 😂.

I have the 3 dogs on 1 arm but there's just not enough room for her, I can't put her on my other arm due to self inflicted scars. I thought about putting her on my chest (heart area) being that she really was my soul dog and she saved my life.

What have you done so far when seeking help?

Do you have any hobbies or interests that you enjoy doing?
