Mental Health issues in older people

Mental Health issues in older people

Hi

I wasn’t sure where to put this:

I am just wondering if they’re are many older people on these forums? Like people 55+ who may have mental health issues going into (or being in) their retirement and how they are handling them.

Re: Mental Health issues in older people

I remember being younger than my age which is only 57 and dreaming that 57 was someone elderly.

@TAB

Being 57 is awesome.

The biggest problem I have is that I really want to do this diploma in Counselling. Hell, iv studied Psychotherapy for years and I went to university and got 70% with a youngest son who had a brain tumour but

................

Do I want to do a year of 4 full days a year ?

Am I able to do that ?

Can I even do a day of study anymore ?

My body can't

I'll be in hospital for about a week getting my gall bladder out.

I'll be pulling out of TAFE after this message because

There's little motivation left

My body is sick

My concentration is gone.

This is life.

.

I think my friend @outlander

May be over 50 year old Too.

Re: Mental Health issues in older people

are there other options @PeppyPatti ?

4 days a week sounds a lot.

was like 10-15 contact hours a week at uni

Cert IV just did was 5-6hrs once a fortnight f2f then 10-20 hours at home

Re: Mental Health issues in older people

I can do that @TAB those hours are good. Your course I think would have been good but not this.

Im going to be in hospital for a week shortly then but recovery at home. Gall bladder.

My teeth all loose in mouth.

Oh well it was a kick being accepted.

At the very young age of 57, I'll hobble in my loungeroom to rest near cushions now I'm about to bowl over

Hi @PeppyPatti

Hopefully you will feel better after gallbladder op.

As rav3n said - could you get some kind of special consideration for having surgery?

You might feel you can concentrate more once op is over and done with

Hi @Till23

Thanx for your message

How are you today ?

@Glisten @ENKELI

At least @Till23 we don't live in America which would be tough to get all this organised if you are vulnerable like we are.

Hey @@
