Regaining my spark

Regaining my spark

I thought I would start a thread that was positive and helps other forum members in their recovery process, and that we could help each other to wellness. I know a good description of my depression is that I have lost my spark but I am determine to get it back!!!

Re: Regaining my spark

Dear Oceangirl73,

Thanks for starting this thread. Yes, being depressed does feel exactly as if you have lost your spark. You can only re-kindle it by looking afer yourself - a regular lifestyle, no bad habits (drinking and the like) and gradually motivaing yourself to do things which you can enjoy or can distract you. You know those colour-in sheets they give you in hospital? Well they really put the mind into a meditative state and block negative thoughts.

One step at a time. I am very well at the moment and would like to encourage others to feel that better times are just around the corner.

Hey @oceangirl

I'm sorry I forgot to reply to you the other day. I am doing okay at the moment. Good news, I am going to be a grandma!!! Can you believe it? My daughter and her boyfriend came over yesterday and told me and hubby. we are the first ones they have told.

I am trying to stay positive although at times a little negative thought/behaviour will come into my mind.

Happy thoughts @oceangirl

Take care xxxooo
