Re: Life and trauma
@Former-Member Believe ne, i know how hard that trust is to regain once you've had it betrayed so many times. Ive only just started to learn to give it myself. Its still a big struggle and it only includes a very small numbervof people, but its a start.
It starts with learning to rejects the things youve been told, especially by people who have let you down and have treated you so badly in the past. Realising and accepting that it them it reflects badly on, not you. It took me over 50 years to even begin to change that thinking.
You cant force these things. Just continue to have as many supportive people around you as you can and that trust will slowly start to come and with it, that change in thinking about yourself.

Re: Life and trauma
@MJG017 I'm trying. Right now all I have is here as my safe zone and with people to chat to. Whether I ever find that in the real world that's another matter. I want things to be different so badly but at the same time that change is so overwhelming and feels impossible.

Re: Life and trauma
@Former-Member I started to find that trust with people online before i could find it in the real world. When you've thought one way for so long, its only natural it to take a long time to start to change it. like all overwhelming things, yiu need to take it slow and one step at a time. Just keep doing what you can.

@MJG017 I'm trying. I really am. It just feels like I take 1 step forward then a million steps backwards.

Hey @MJG017 it's my turn for some cheesy xmas cracker jokes.
What do you get if you cross a sheep with a kangaroo?
And yes I cracked Xmas crackers open by myself 🤣
