I've gotten pretty good at finding positives in hard to find places the past couple of years. It's funny what we end up learning in life.

Unfortunately you may just be left with random games on your phone. I'm being mugged by the sleep fairy right now. So if I don't reply, you know she won!

Re: Life and trauma

@MJG017 my random games aren't working to distract myself enough. But I'm not able to get through to the crisis lines so I'm in a bit of a predicament.

I'll enjoy your company whist you are still awake then. I do hope you are able to get some sleep though, maybe you can get enough for both of us.

I'm still just awake... no idea how. It's was probably Luna jumping up on the bed wanting to play.

I'm sorry the games aren't working at the moment. There's not a massive list of things to do at 2am in the morning is there.

I've discovered over the past year or so that distractions only work for so long. Which is a shame because what comes then really sucks!! Keep trying with the crisis lines and hopefully you can get through soon. In the mean time try to do whatever you can to keep yourself grounded and know that right now you're home and safe and it will soon be the morning and the day starts again. That is a good enough win for now.

Re: Life and trauma

@MJG017 silly Luna should be sleeping.

It sucks when things stop working. I'm occupied with a blood nose at the moment so that's fun.

I'm trying hard to stay grounded but I'm getting frustrated cos nothing is working. When morning comes around it means that my appointment is only the day away. Really hoping my doctor can come up with a plan moving forward cos things can't keep going like this.

Kittens seem to have so much energy. It's exhausting just watching her! It makes me feel old and tired... the fact it's true has nothing to do with it! 😁

I really hope you can have a good chat with your GP and come up with some plan. As you say, not that you need to, but it's just so draining to keep dealing with everything you are. Just to get some sort of relief from it will help immensely I would assume. Even just to feel more and more like things are improving and moving forward.

It sounds like last night was another tough one. How are you doing today?

Re: Life and trauma

@MJG017 watching kittens makes me feel old and I'm not quite as old as you yet 😂.

I really hope something comes out of tomorrow's appointment, I can't keep going like this.

Last night was really rough, I finally fell asleep just before 5am but then was awake having a panic attack at 5.30am, back to sleep around 7.15am and woke up again at 8am with another panic attack and I've been awake ever since. To say I'm struggling is an understatement, I've had 3 seizures since last night all of which have taken a massive toll on me and my body. I had to go to the shops and that took so much out of me, physically and mentally. I'm doing my colouring but my brain is struggling to focus. I needed to see my favourite worker today at the shops but they weren't there but at least some of the other workers that I know were and they checked in to see how I was going.

How are you going?

Is you appointment just seeing the GP? I know when I have my care plan (diabetic) I see the nurse first and then see my GP. We never talk about the diabetes as it's been stable for years but it's good to talk to the nurse first. I find that helps. My mental health care plan visits are just to see the GP to get referrals for more psychologist visits. So i'm not sure if your practice had anything where you can speak to a nurse each visit as well. Anyway, make sure you let him know all of the struggles you're having and if there are any other services he think may be available to you. Let us know tomorrow how you got on.

It certainly must have been a very rough night for you. Do they know if there's anything that can be done about them? Or at lease minimize them. 3 in a night seems like a hell of a lot for anyone to have to deal with.

It's a pity your favourite worker wasn't there, but nice that the others asked how you were doing.

I'm doing okay. Not much done today. There was a donut van so went to get some and then went to Bunnings. That's been my day so far. Oh, went to the shop as well for a couple of things. Oh, which reminds me, I should download a movie to watch tonight. It may have to be something old... it's slim pickings these days.

Re: Life and trauma

@MJG017 My appointment tomorrow is to discuss everything that's happened over the past 2 weeks and hopefully a plan of what to do going forward. There's nurses there but I only usually see them if I need dressings put on wounds. The appointment isn't until 1pm, I really wish it was earlier in the day but I'll be sure to let you know how it goes.

It's ridiculous having so many but to be expected cos of the lack of sleep and stress. Funnily enough I had a message about a week ago about a neurology appointment which silly me said I didn't need anymore. The wait list for that is so long so I'm not sure it's even worth trying to get another referral done.

Yes it was nice to see friendly faces and have a chat, although it was hard cos I was in a state of panic so talking was tricky.

Ohh a donut van, yummy. Bunnings is always fun. I'm still watching my Buffy and Angel episodes. You got a movie in mind at all?

I had a referral for a gastro years ago and it took 3 years! I had another last year and another current one... both times he put the referral down as urgent and it happened pretty quickly. I'm still waiting on the current one, but the one last year they called me and said they could do it publicly, but through a private hospital so i didn't have to wait too long. It was a couple of months in then end. I would think you qualify.

Oh yes, I did find a movie. One i've been cautiously looking forward to. The Gorge. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rUSdnuOLebE
