I assume it would be asking a little to much to expect a little bit of empathy and understanding from your mother. I'm sorry you are having to deal with this, it certainly can't be helpful.
I know dealing with family can put us in very tricky positions, but that doesn't mean you can't have some boundaries. I would think not being attacked is a good start and certainly not a lot to ask for.
How long is she there for?
