Hi guys,
Looking for all those that are intending to study in 2025 to complete the cert IV Mental Health Peer Work.
This is a space for our study group, where we can discuss what we are studying and hopefully get some input from current Sane Peer support workers.

Well I survived all my role plays (we had 9 this term) and now I am on 3 weeks break. My role plays went really well and I got some great feedback. Feeling really good about myself right now! Made it to the end of semester one!!! Woohoo!!! Seems highly likely that I will finish the course now… I will admit that there were times that I wanted to quit but I have stuck in there and I am so happy that I did. Sometimes things get hard but they are not impossible.

No real plans except for going out with my support worker 3 times a week and going for a hike to see the waterfall

I am considering taking on the cert IV in mental health next year. I can get RPL (recognition of prior learning) for most units because they are the same as the peer work units. I think I will only have 4 units to do. Also it’s fee free here in WA so it won’t even cost me anything.

Go for it if you feel you want to complete it. One thing though, people often do one or the other rather than both because there are a lot of overlaps. But I guess it depends on what you want to do in terms of later work, etc @Oaktree
I believe the MH cert allows you to work in case management.

I hope that everyone is going well with their studies. I've loved doing the course and couldn't believe the feeling of safety and support within the class, much like on here with all of you… Which is such a beautiful thing to experience.
I'm very sorry to everyone (and myself) that I've been a bit all over the place this year, but I am back and hope to make more of an effort with staying connected with you all 🧡
Is anyone interested in doing the Intentional Peer Support (IPS) Core training?
P.s. I've tried to support a few different posts and replies, and it won't let me — it says, “Sorry, unable to complete the action you requested.” Is this happening for anyone else?

@defaultusername I have not done that core training. I thought about it last time but from what I remember it costs money to do the training right?
