Talking through trauma and PTSD

Running

Running

"Behind every strong person is a story that gave them no choice"

My life is all about a lack of choice.

I'm alive because death would've outed him, it would have sealed his fate in prison.

TW: cultic, rape, trafficking, torture

I'm the daughter of a Satanist...

One trained to breed...

One pregnant at 6 years old...

One prostituted to whoever could afford her...

The girl her dad didn't want...

One men hired to have fun with...

One men experimented with...

One who was tortured for speaking up...

One trained for the sole purpose to please her buyer...

Regardless of age...

Still though...

One who never stayed silent...

One who broke free... twice...

One who rose up...

One who seeks to prove them wrong...

One who has been running for 15 years...

One who just needs to feel heard...

One who went through hell and survived...

That this Phoenix can rise...

She will not be burned...

She's proven that...

I have proven that...

I'm 35 and 90% of those I've been in prolonged abusive situations insufficient evidence for prosecution

A system that protects the abuser more than the survivor

And yet I still try

I don't try for me, I try for the ones after me, the ones like me, that they will see their justice

But for now I run...

From a dad that wants me silenced...

From the nightmares that plague my sleep...

From the memories that invade my mind...

From the choices made for me...

Didn't expect that to come out as poetic as it did

@avant-garde so very true. You are not damaged. You are made perfect in weakness (2 Cor 12:9)

And I have never thought of you as damaged, I should have said those people who tried to damage you.

I hope you have a peaceful night sweetheart xo

@AuntGlow

My best friend is in hospital... she's like my little sister... she's part of my little family that I've made myself... and I feel like her mum doesn't understand how much she means to me... I don't have a real family and *Jasmine is the closest I've got. She's my oldest and dearest friend and her mum doesn't think it's important to keep me informed! I won't know if she has surgery or how she's doing because I'm just lucky enough she told me this time! Because most of the time they don't.

Re: Running

Hello @avant-garde,

Thank you so much for letting me know. I am so sorry your friend is in hospital... this would be really scary for you both. 😔 She sounds incredibly important to you, so of course you care and want to be there for her. Do you think a visit at some stage be possible at all? 💛

Re: Running

@AuntGlow

No, her mum is like a hawk and does not see the point of visitors which really angers me, Jasmine is 31. I'm lucky I even got told!

How are you feeling about everything today? 💛

Re: Running

@AuntGlow

I have Bible study in a while at my pastors place.

TW: SA

Content/trigger warning
the most prominent memories of Bible study at pastors places are in my teenage years... where we didn't study the Bible... instead it was a time when I was repeatedly raped... saying it was sanctifying...

I've been listening to sermons and I can't say it's easy

Re: Running

There are no words for the trauma and pain this must have inflicted upon you @avant-garde. No person should ever have to go through this... I really appreciate you sharing this with me, it gives me even more context as to why church can be so painful for you. I am wondering what will help you to feel safe tonight? I am here for you, okay? 💛

I have my Bible, it's really beautiful, my dotted notebook where I take notes on one side and draw on the other, they hopefully have hot chocolate, it's a comfort thing and cushions on their couches that I can cling onto. I'll have my necklace, my priceless coin and my fidget ring at least.

I'll sit somewhere I can clearly see the exit.

I'll get there slightly early so I can breathe and pray in my car, like I do for church.

May take my mini calm kit in as well, it fits in my handbag
