Ouch, that sounds like a lot of painful places - do you find they tend to "all hit at once" (e.g. the osteoarthritis areas) or different days in different joints?
I find different days I will have different areas in pain - my ankles, lower back and wrists are usually related to usage. However my knees they are temperamental - and I suspect they respond to the air pressure or temperature or something because winter sets them off, but also interesting I realised one year my knees were really bad for a week and I was speaking later on two separate occasions to others who also had knee arthritis and they had their knees start hurting the exact same week for the whole week too - one of them said something about barometric pressure.
People who don't know me well that are older than me (which isn't hard, I'm in my 30's and many of my friends and coworkers are 50+) talk about how "when you get old and your body starts to hurt and have arthritis..." and I look at them a moment, listen to them, then tell them that I can already relate because I was diagnosed with knee osteoarthritis at 20! 🤣 My chiro actually didn't believe it was arthritis (saying sometimes misalignment or muscle tension can mimic the pain, which is true) until I told him they diagnosed it from an MRI scan -- then he accepted that OK it legitimately was osteoarthritis. I am grateful to not have it more severe, and it doesn't seem to be worsening fast, and I am grateful it is not rheumatoid either (although a coworker said they have medication that keeps their rheumatoid arthritis from flaring up, which I reckon is pretty cool that that exists now!).
I joke the reason I relate so well to my seniors is because my body already thinks it is 80 🤣. Hmm... if only I could be like benjamin button and my body get younger as I age?? Fingers crossed maybe there will be more medical intervention tech before mine deteriorates too painfully. For now, massage, chiro and very occasional NSAIDs help. 😊
If you ever have good tips for what helps you with the pain, I am all ears. 😊
I used to work at a social club which had members mostly over 60 and retired. In winter the attendance rates would always drop A LOT (25-50%?) because so many people would travel to QLD for the warmer weather due to arthritis or disliking the cold. 😋
In the summer, half the city goes to the Coast for holidays. 🤣
I had no idea kidney disease caused cramps and restless leg syndrome; I guess I don't know much about kidney disease except for that when kidneys fail people need dialysis and if possible transplants - and that when they do a transplant they add the kidney but don't take out the old one! (I forget how I learnt that last fact, I think it was my from my cousin who is a nurse and now works in a dialysis clinic.)
If you ever want to explain more about your condition, I am also all ears. But only if having someone understand in more detail what your experience is like is healthy for you. I like to learn and listen from people's experience, but I never want people to feel traumatised or distressed by sharing. 🤗
It has started to rain here just now. And of course one of my dogs (the extra fluffy one) wants to go out!
