Hiya @Shaz51 how's your week/day been?

I was wondering if now is a good time for you for having a chat about what we touched on the other week? Totally up to you and where your energy is at right now 😊

Re: One Day at a time here

now sounds good for the chat about what we touched on the other week. @Jynx

the week has been crazy, but it was good to see Mr. Shaz getting his interest in his hobby back yesterday and today

I go through bouts of finding 'doing' and being out in the world really hard too... would you like to talk about this more at all? shaz51

sometimes I am getting more comfortable at home as i am getting older

I think just doing the things that need to be done down town , doctors, specialist , shopping ect is enough

having no friends and family members not worried or interest on how you are

Re: One Day at a time here

@Shaz51 So if I remember correctly you feel like you want to be able to open up/share more about your inner world, but you're hitting a wall with this idea of it needing to be 'correct'... is that about the gist?

Is there other stuff going on as well? Sounds like a blockage relating to how you're perceived and perhaps a fear of losing the connections you do have when people see 'the real you'. Please tell me if I'm off track!

Re: One Day at a time here

You are right there @Jynx

But the other thing I find is harder is responding to members , how much to say

What to say

In my mind it tells me what to write but I find it hard to put it on paper so I just end up sending hugs and telling them I am sitting with them which I know is still important

Re: One Day at a time here

I think feeling more comfortable at home makes so much sense, especially as you are managing health stressors and worries with Mr. Shaz... and then to add disconnect from family and friends, that's all really hard stuff to manage, lovely. @Shaz51💛

How you have expressed yourself here is perfect.

I wonder if slowly sharing more over time will allow the community to be there for you during this time?

Thank you for that piece of encouragement @AuntGlow

Keep on keeping on my friend 🧡 bit by bit and growing forward

Re: One Day at a time here

@Shaz51 to my mind, that tells me that you care very deeply, and really don't want to 'say the wrong thing' and make things worse for them. Do you think so too?

It's okay to feel uncomfortable sharing more than what you do. I know for a lot of people, just knowing someone has seen their post and cares enough to respond at all can mean so so much. I don't think there's ever a 'perfect' way to respond. But if you'd like to be able to say more, I reckon it might just take a little bit of practice.

You could potentially try to see if any other members would feel comfortable with you 'practising' with them? Like let them know that you are trying something new and that you are stepping outside your comfort zone. That way they can let you know how they felt about the way you responded, if you want to get a sense for what works and what doesn't.

I think this is potentially one of the best places to try something like this, because the members are so understanding and non-judgemental!

Do you feel comfortable sharing a little bit here about some of the things you'd like to say?
