Re: One Day at a time here

Tests can be overwhelming @Shaz51

I was recently tested and cleared for Haemochromatosis, which is genetic.

But my iron is still high and my platelets low, so they're not sure why or what's going on.

Sitting with you, my friend.

Hi @Appleblossom 😊 good to see you. How have you been?

Im off to bed now, another busy day tomorrow! 3 back to back morning things, then people over again in the evening. No idea yet what I will make them for dinner lol. Maybe ill call it lazy night and we can order in 😅 although I would prefer something healthy if I can think of something to grab from the supermarket on my way home from my appointment. I could do a Greek salad with something 🤔. Greek salads make me think of @Cuddlebear 😊.

@NightFury i am a Haemochromatosis carrier

2 of my cousins have it and have to give blood regularly

My ferrintine iron is still high , it was over 1000 due to infection

It has gone down a bit but still high

@Shaz51 I guess it's a bit overwhelming to have the cardiac and genetic follow-ups but hang in there. I've had a couple of heart work ups. Nothing serious but it helps to know what you're dealing with, it helps inform lifestyle and meds. The genetic side of things is quirky, even if the results don't change your treatment they might help doctors treat other women with Turners syndrome in future (if you have it).

I learnt last year I have kidney problems I may have been born with, but it's only in 1 kidney and my kidney function overall is fine.

Big hugs.

Hugs @Dimity

What problems have you got with one of your kidney?

I only have one kidney

How is your heart ❤️

Yes see what they find with my heart

Re: One Day at a time here

@Shaz51 I have cysts in one kidney, and a growth on that adrenal gland. Also no ovary on that side, but maybe that's postmenopausal. The wonders of modern imaging.

My heart chambers etc have changed shape and I have mild coronary artery disease. I take meds for all that. I also try to eat healthy and exercise but I'm not very fit.

My psych meds don't help - they're bad for weight gain, diabetes, heart problems, and gut problems, but they've kept me functioning and I was mostly able to work. You win some you lose some.
