Am Not Coping

Am Not Coping

I am really not coping at the moment but this is entirely on ME!

This is a message for a few people on here @utopia @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member

that I asked could be passed on but it seems that only part of it has been and I understand from the responses that have made it through my emails that I have caused untold distress for some people. I was not going to return because of what I felt I put people through but I especially wanted @utopia and @Former-Member to know that they were not wrong at the time and I was going through a real crisis period. You both held me together for longer than I could myself until the point where my own self-destructive thoughts overwhelmed me.

The entire message that I sent to SANE is below:

I have just viewed the multitude of emails and messages sent from forum members and members of the SANE team – as well as the text and voice message left on my phone.

I have not been able to communicate with anyone since the other night as I have been recovering from what ended up being an unsuccessful attempt to end the pain.

At the time I was in a very distressed state and I did want to stop the pain and all I seemed to achieve is to cause others pain and worry and that is the last thing I wanted to do – I just wanted to end mine and say goodbye to everyone beforehand so my future absence was explained. I should have realised that the message I posted would have concerned some people but I really was not in any state to think about the repercussions for others.

I am so sorry I caused so much distress to others – that is something I will have to hopefully try and live with.

I don’t believe after the concern and anxiety I caused to so many that I will ever be able to return to the forum.

Can someone from the SANE team please explain all this to all those involved and pass on my gratitude for their compassion, concerns and kind words throughout the time I have been part of the ‘forum family’.

Thank you and sorry again for the difficult position I put everyone in.

I do not want any responses from any of you. I just wanted to let you know exactly what has happened and let you know how truly sorry I am for hurting people I have come to think of as friends and family, and who I really care about.

Your support, advice and compassion are what make you all the wonderful people you are.

@utopia and @Former-Member I am so sorry that the trust you placed in me has now been broken because of my actions. I also felt that we had a stronger connection, especially over the last week, and you both helped me in ways I cannot even describe or explain. I was not pulling away from you two - just wanted to pull away from myself. I couldn't cope with my own feelings and no-one or nothing was actually going to be able to stop me at the time. It's now just another failure to add to my list of failures. I really don't know what else to say to you both but to reiterate my heartfelt 'sorry'.

Re: Am Not Coping

Most of the group going @Sam3 are meeting for drinks beforehand - I don't think I will do that but it depends on how I am feeling and if I can get ready in time. Fridays I am usually home early so there should be time to work out when I am going to go and where I will meet them. There is probably not one person in particular in the group that are going that I have become really close to - most of the people I really like are not going so that is a little disappointing but I'm sure the others will welcome me as they have done at work.

I think the nausea is related to the headaches but I haven't had one of my night meds for a few days so it could be that as well - I will discuss it with my GP tomorrow though.

@MDT The assistant principal is going so I suspect there won't be too much work talk - at least none of the bitchiness I encountered at the other place - I just don't get that - it is not necessary.

@Snowie Definitely stepping way out of my comfort zone going to the dinner Hon

I had a feeling tomorrow was your biggest day @Faith-and-Hope because I remembered it coinciding with my 'day off' but wasn't sure if I had got that right or had dreamt it lol

I will look out for you later but will let you know if I head to bed before you check in here again. Hope you have a good night Hon

Not all workplaces are equal. You might surprise yourself and find a glimmer of party person buried deep. Come to think of it you were leading the way in some of our forum partees

I have gradually found my social side. Part of it was through the forum, so it is fairly recent. Part of it was through music. SInging seriously at my church choir, I would suddenly break out silently with the moves of backing vocals or a cabaret style. I figured that it was like a muscle at the gym, I had to exercise my social muscle to build it up and learn. It is great making people laugh. Tonight I made my conductor laugh quite hard with a droll comment, and quite a few of the blokes also got it. It would lose it in translation.

For so long I felt such a tragic case, that it was very difficult, feeling the right to laugh, and I had not a clue at first. I started off with trying to just be a little light hearted as opposed to funny ... I know you can be funny. Will be cheering in your pocket on Friday night.

@Appleblossom There was a time when I was quite social - used to go out all the time and would talk to anyone. Life certainly gets in the way and things change dramatically. I don't feel comfortable doing that anymore and certainly haven't had any friends I could do that with. That is a result of how I feel about myself and isolating myself from the world to protect myself. The last time I remember going out I was asked out by a really nice guy and I didn't understand at all why he wanted to take me out so I declined pretty quickly. That is what bad experiences with people do though - make us think negaitvely about ourselves and we don't think we are worth that kind of experience.

Going to be a testing night for me @eth but also need to try to get out more and do more things. Even if I don't go for long I think it will still be good for me.
