Am Not Coping

Am Not Coping

I am really not coping at the moment but this is entirely on ME!

This is a message for a few people on here @utopia @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member

that I asked could be passed on but it seems that only part of it has been and I understand from the responses that have made it through my emails that I have caused untold distress for some people. I was not going to return because of what I felt I put people through but I especially wanted @utopia and @Former-Member to know that they were not wrong at the time and I was going through a real crisis period. You both held me together for longer than I could myself until the point where my own self-destructive thoughts overwhelmed me.

The entire message that I sent to SANE is below:

I have just viewed the multitude of emails and messages sent from forum members and members of the SANE team – as well as the text and voice message left on my phone.

I have not been able to communicate with anyone since the other night as I have been recovering from what ended up being an unsuccessful attempt to end the pain.

At the time I was in a very distressed state and I did want to stop the pain and all I seemed to achieve is to cause others pain and worry and that is the last thing I wanted to do – I just wanted to end mine and say goodbye to everyone beforehand so my future absence was explained. I should have realised that the message I posted would have concerned some people but I really was not in any state to think about the repercussions for others.

I am so sorry I caused so much distress to others – that is something I will have to hopefully try and live with.

I don’t believe after the concern and anxiety I caused to so many that I will ever be able to return to the forum.

Can someone from the SANE team please explain all this to all those involved and pass on my gratitude for their compassion, concerns and kind words throughout the time I have been part of the ‘forum family’.

Thank you and sorry again for the difficult position I put everyone in.

Zoe7

I do not want any responses from any of you. I just wanted to let you know exactly what has happened and let you know how truly sorry I am for hurting people I have come to think of as friends and family, and who I really care about.

Your support, advice and compassion are what make you all the wonderful people you are.

@utopia and @Former-Member I am so sorry that the trust you placed in me has now been broken because of my actions. I also felt that we had a stronger connection, especially over the last week, and you both helped me in ways I cannot even describe or explain. I was not pulling away from you two - just wanted to pull away from myself. I couldn't cope with my own feelings and no-one or nothing was actually going to be able to stop me at the time. It's now just another failure to add to my list of failures. I really don't know what else to say to you both but to reiterate my heartfelt 'sorry'.

Re: Am Not Coping

yes, better in some ways not in others @Zoe7 ..but its for the better .. lol my body has a lot of damage to repair and in some ways seem to be going backwards, but definitely felt like was breathing deeper and easier this morning, could 'taste' the air and feel it in my lungs, havent in years ok it was humid , and sense of smell starting to reappear if fleetingly like a waft of stale cigarette reek after getting back in car today. having regular afternoon naps then what turns out to be another nap, then get about 6 hrs 3rd go. becoming a pattern. Very deep sleep and was nightmares in afternoon, but thats gone now. Have just about dropped lozenges, still doing patches tho, that on its own wasnt enough at the start, plus um getting used to 'thoughts' and just let them go

@Sam3 I made a dent with the dining table stuff - most of what is left is already in boxes or piles that need to be sorted and filed or shredded. I really need to sort it out before I go back to work and despite it going to tske some time it will be worth it in order to have it ll filed away for later planning.

As an update about my garage - presently I have everything stacked in two parts of the garage - the reason is my roof leaks - I am waiting for it to be fixed (my sister's partner is doing it) but have been waiting several months. My garage also got flooded during the last two storms we had so had a lot of damage to tools etc. so really needing the roof fixed before I can put up the new walls and then set up the shelves. Then I can sort and stack things safely (and dry) and have more room to move things into the garage. It is all a big job but my sister has said she will help me do it so that is awesome.

I have a very god team around me - my GP and pdoc I see once a week and my psychologist every fortnight. I also do DBT which is run once a week. It has been a very long road but those behing me have been absolutely amazing. When I was at my worst I was seeing my GP nearly everyday and those days I wasn't (which were her day off and the weekend) she messaged or rang me to see how I was going. I also had my psychologist's number to call if needed and used that a couple of times when I didn't feel like I could get through the day/night. At that stage I was seeing her twice a week but I don't need that kind of support anymore. I am in a much better place than I was and part of reaching that stage hsa been with the support I have had from my team as well as from the wonderful support I have received on the forum. This place has been my lifeline at times when I could not see a way forward and has really got me through some of those darker times.

I think you are doing a fantastic job @TAB I am sure soon you will start feeling the benefits from quitting even more. Keep it up - you are doing so well

Re: Am Not Coping

@TAB - You're doing amazingly well with giving up the ciggies. Though I've never smoked myself, I have had a family member who recently give up smoking. He did eventually succeed, but I know it was extremely hard. He had smoked since he was about 16yo, and he is now in his mid 50's. He is already noticing some improvements in his lung capacity, so it is never too late to give up smoking and still see many benefits. I have read that the damage from smoking does repair itself after quitting. So its well worth the efforts you are putting into it.

@Zoe7 - Wow ... you have been so industrious! I thought you were lacking in motivation? Despite that, you sound like you are achieving a lot. I am in total admiration of you.

@Sam3 - I love reading your posts and its a great pleasure having you around. Thanks for asking after me. After an awful day on Thursday, I am slowly on the improve.

Hi also to @Former-Member @Shaz51 and others who pass through today. What's in store for everyone today?

Re: Am Not Coping

No motivation or energy here today @Former-Member Snuggled on th couch with Toby and feeling very tired. i am hoping I can wake up and get moving soon but it is okay also if I can't.

There are things I want to achieve today but would rather lay down and sleep right now but trying to wake up instead. I was in bed late last night due to watching the cricket and as a result taking my meds late so they are probably still wearing off also - they have a 12 hour half life and I didn't take them until 11pm last night - hoping that I get through the next couple of hours nd then start feeling a bit more awake.

What are you up to today?

Re: Am Not Coping

Sounds like you are seeing the benefits of giving up already @TAB so that should be an incentive to keep going. I think you are doing an amazing job - not an easy thing to do but you are smashing it
