Am Not Coping

Am Not Coping

I am really not coping at the moment but this is entirely on ME!

This is a message for a few people on here @utopia @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member

that I asked could be passed on but it seems that only part of it has been and I understand from the responses that have made it through my emails that I have caused untold distress for some people. I was not going to return because of what I felt I put people through but I especially wanted @utopia and @Former-Member to know that they were not wrong at the time and I was going through a real crisis period. You both held me together for longer than I could myself until the point where my own self-destructive thoughts overwhelmed me.

The entire message that I sent to SANE is below:

I have just viewed the multitude of emails and messages sent from forum members and members of the SANE team – as well as the text and voice message left on my phone.

I have not been able to communicate with anyone since the other night as I have been recovering from what ended up being an unsuccessful attempt to end the pain.

At the time I was in a very distressed state and I did want to stop the pain and all I seemed to achieve is to cause others pain and worry and that is the last thing I wanted to do – I just wanted to end mine and say goodbye to everyone beforehand so my future absence was explained. I should have realised that the message I posted would have concerned some people but I really was not in any state to think about the repercussions for others.

I am so sorry I caused so much distress to others – that is something I will have to hopefully try and live with.

I don’t believe after the concern and anxiety I caused to so many that I will ever be able to return to the forum.

Can someone from the SANE team please explain all this to all those involved and pass on my gratitude for their compassion, concerns and kind words throughout the time I have been part of the ‘forum family’.

Thank you and sorry again for the difficult position I put everyone in.

Zoe7

I do not want any responses from any of you. I just wanted to let you know exactly what has happened and let you know how truly sorry I am for hurting people I have come to think of as friends and family, and who I really care about.

Your support, advice and compassion are what make you all the wonderful people you are.

@utopia and @Former-Member I am so sorry that the trust you placed in me has now been broken because of my actions. I also felt that we had a stronger connection, especially over the last week, and you both helped me in ways I cannot even describe or explain. I was not pulling away from you two - just wanted to pull away from myself. I couldn't cope with my own feelings and no-one or nothing was actually going to be able to stop me at the time. It's now just another failure to add to my list of failures. I really don't know what else to say to you both but to reiterate my heartfelt 'sorry'.

Re: Am Not Coping

I missed the last few overs eating tea @Zoe7 looks like Hurricanes got home by a ball in the end. And 5 from 5. Well.

Re: Am Not Coping

It was a closer game than expected at about the halfway point of our innings @TAB but close games have become usual for us - and yes 5 from 5 is a great start. Let's hope we can continue the same form for the remainder of the season.

Well ‘you’ won the toss and chose to bowl but yes they’ve got some players this year @Zoe7

Re: Am Not Coping

We have a very good record chasing @TAB so a good decision bowling first - who doesn't love a good run chase

You are doing so well with giving up the ciggies @TAB - super happy for you that you have already lasted 4 days - must be feeling better already. Goodnight Mr. Tabby Cat - catch you tomorrow

Re: Am Not Coping

Yes well done @TAB re cigarettes & alcohol too if I recall correctly. Hope you’re sleeping soundly @Former-Member & everyone else! It’s late now & my brain can’t quite recall the previous posts. I hope those in Tasmania avoided any impacts from the fire & high temps. I had lunch with a few friends & told them I’d joined this forum & how I was going. Went well except one person in the group who is obviously naturally resilient asserted that anyone can be if they just decide to set their mind to it (if only, huh?!). My visit to the doctor resulted in a 50% reduction of one of my meds & a reminder to practice mindfulness (which is reassuringly evidence-based practice). Good on you @Former-Member for 20 minutes of affirmations in the mornings. @Zoe7 did you start painting your peacock? PS you were perceptive about my catchup with friend yesterday. @Owlunar I’m a little perturbed about hermit crabs on the loose, especially when I’m often barefoot inside, so I am requesting some creative imagery/metaphor from you to make it ‘all good’! @CheerBear how is “muddled one” going? @MDT how is the job application looking? @Former-Member are you getting by ok?

Re: Am Not Coping

Didn't start painting the peacock today but did get some other things sorted out so all in all a good day. Will get to the peacock over the weekend though I hope @Sam3.

The fire here is quite a distance away from the city and has apparently turned back on itself with the change in wind direction - hoping that will help bring it under control. It is a pretty inaccesible part of the state where it is burning so hrd to fight by the fireys. Hoping also that lower temps tomorrow help with fighting it. Tomorrow is supposed to be in the low 20s here so much nicer weather to deal with - going to try to get out in the garage again and do some more sorting out.

I hope the reduction in one of your meds means the GP thinks you are not needing them as much now - that is a positive. Do you also see a psychiatrist and/or psychologist?

Re: Am Not Coping

By the way @Zoe7 did you manage to deal with your dining table (I think it was you?!). Sounds crazy if there’s no space one solution is to pile your teaching materials into boxes & place in your garage or even your boot! Doctor I saw today is a psychiatrist & in the past 5 plus years I’ve seen a psychologist & a counsellor/mindfulness teacher & done several mindfulness courses & one called “positive neuroplasticity training”. I’m Conscious that I just need to implement what I’ve learnt & I don’t want to invest more money - only if I’m doing something very practical (eg. would prefer finding someone to help me develop a routine & sort/throw things out but it’s difficult to find the right person & how would I work out what to pay them?! ). What supports do you/others use that are beneficial @Zoe7 ?
