Am Not Coping

Am Not Coping

I am really not coping at the moment but this is entirely on ME!

This is a message for a few people on here @utopia @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member

that I asked could be passed on but it seems that only part of it has been and I understand from the responses that have made it through my emails that I have caused untold distress for some people. I was not going to return because of what I felt I put people through but I especially wanted @utopia and @Former-Member to know that they were not wrong at the time and I was going through a real crisis period. You both held me together for longer than I could myself until the point where my own self-destructive thoughts overwhelmed me.

The entire message that I sent to SANE is below:

I have just viewed the multitude of emails and messages sent from forum members and members of the SANE team – as well as the text and voice message left on my phone.

I have not been able to communicate with anyone since the other night as I have been recovering from what ended up being an unsuccessful attempt to end the pain.

At the time I was in a very distressed state and I did want to stop the pain and all I seemed to achieve is to cause others pain and worry and that is the last thing I wanted to do – I just wanted to end mine and say goodbye to everyone beforehand so my future absence was explained. I should have realised that the message I posted would have concerned some people but I really was not in any state to think about the repercussions for others.

I am so sorry I caused so much distress to others – that is something I will have to hopefully try and live with.

I don’t believe after the concern and anxiety I caused to so many that I will ever be able to return to the forum.

Can someone from the SANE team please explain all this to all those involved and pass on my gratitude for their compassion, concerns and kind words throughout the time I have been part of the ‘forum family’.

Thank you and sorry again for the difficult position I put everyone in.

Zoe7

I do not want any responses from any of you. I just wanted to let you know exactly what has happened and let you know how truly sorry I am for hurting people I have come to think of as friends and family, and who I really care about.

Your support, advice and compassion are what make you all the wonderful people you are.

@utopia and @Former-Member I am so sorry that the trust you placed in me has now been broken because of my actions. I also felt that we had a stronger connection, especially over the last week, and you both helped me in ways I cannot even describe or explain. I was not pulling away from you two - just wanted to pull away from myself. I couldn't cope with my own feelings and no-one or nothing was actually going to be able to stop me at the time. It's now just another failure to add to my list of failures. I really don't know what else to say to you both but to reiterate my heartfelt 'sorry'.

Dear @Zoe7 I am seeing my GP today too.

I get that you are a capable, committed person with lots of good people skills. Your post sounds very clear about your vulnerability and your choices. Glad you had a "chat" with @Former-Member . Good luck at the PD. Humour and clarity .. and no hitting out at minority groups ..now thats a syle of humour I can get behind ..

@Zoe7. So good to hear you sounding a bit more positive this morning.
I'm glad you are going to tell your gp everything that you have been going through and feeling.
Please let us know how you go this afternoon. Be gentle with yourself.
Very proud of you getting through the past few days.

Re: Am Not Coping

Thank you @Appleblossom for tagging @Former-Member in last night. It really did help having a 'chat' about her situation, her anxiety, some of the things she has found difficult and some of the help she has received. I don't think our situations (in regards to coping with ourselves and work) are that different (although we are both individuals and unique in our own right) and I think her experiences will greatly benefit me - just to know someone is around and struggling with the same or similar things.

How are you doing Apple?

@utopia I think we are both pretty good at writing essays LOL. Starting to get that there are people around that do care and I can consider 'friends'. Hope the rest of your day is ok. Will talk again tonight after GP appointment xxx

Hi @zoe7, thanks for the shared gratitud - you're a blessing to us too you know. For your week ahead, a little bit of 'autopilot' works for me. Try to live in the moment, deal with what's in front of you at ant given time, breathe deep & centre yourself throughout the day. And with each sunset, plan a reward for yourself - something that feeds your soul.

Walking with you Zoe, xox

Re: Am Not Coping

Hi @Zoe7 - good to hear from you 😊 That first step is a big one - facing your fears and pain head on is "a huge step". You are doing the right thing and although it may feel uncomfortable at times, you will feel better for it in the long run. And these endeavours may also serve to distract your mind from excess emotions and pain (keeping busy). Offering some relief and equilibrium that helps steady our mood. Your conviction is a sign of growth already. Very positive

There is anxiety when we attempt to face things that we have been avoiding (I was an expert at that), but once it is done watch the relief set in and the slight improvement in your inner strength and resilience each time you do it. We can be up and down But will feel that bit better each time. Consistently doing this (pushing theough the pain ) builds inner fortitude. And then the good days start to become more often overtaking the bad if practised religiously. I have to do it everyday otherwise I would not of coped either. Always seeing the better outcome...

Yes, one day at a time and being present only in the moment without thinking ahead (will overwhelm) as dealing with one day is enough. And when we emburse ourselves and focus on the present only, seeing the good in the moment and embracing it (it may be a blue sky and a cool breeze, a pleasant thought, someone's smile, gardening or activity we like, feeling satisfaction for doing our best, feeling compassion for another etc), living in the now, and keep bringing that attention back to the good, what's productive when triggered - will take our focus off the pain and not feed it - anxiety will then ease, you will get things done and achieve; and you will begin to walk through the pain to where you want to be. Keep the latter goals and purpose clearly in your mind and you will be in the process of letting go of the past.

We can't let others whom have hurt us stop us from living. Stop us from shining our light as that is what it's about. You have shined yours here and have touched others. Don't let it be snuffed out as the world becomes then just that bit darker. Your light, your life matters. The bigger picture. It's a choice. 🤗 xxxxx ❤️🌹

No worries @Zoe7 I felt tagging her was the right thing @Zoe7

I am ok, just got in from gardening and sweaty.

Taking on a bit of @Former-Member attitude that we cant let the people who have hurt us wreck our lives and that my life matters too.

Re: Am Not Coping

@Former-Member I do hear what you are saying and am very grateful that you have taken the time to respond showing so much insight and thought.

"We can let others whom have hurt us stop us from living" - this is the hardest part for me to get over and deal with - hopefully just time and retraining my brain! I'm glad @Appleblossom you are taking this on board and that you recognise that your life matters - because it really does (Still working on this one also!!!)

@Appleblossom It's raining here today hence me being online! Would have liked to get out in the garden today but can't risk getting wet and cold in my current situation health wise.

@Former-Member yes - Just breathe and a bit of autopilot this week will be needed. xxx
