Am Not Coping

Am Not Coping

I am really not coping at the moment but this is entirely on ME!

This is a message for a few people on here @utopia @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member

that I asked could be passed on but it seems that only part of it has been and I understand from the responses that have made it through my emails that I have caused untold distress for some people. I was not going to return because of what I felt I put people through but I especially wanted @utopia and @Former-Member to know that they were not wrong at the time and I was going through a real crisis period. You both held me together for longer than I could myself until the point where my own self-destructive thoughts overwhelmed me.

The entire message that I sent to SANE is below:

I have just viewed the multitude of emails and messages sent from forum members and members of the SANE team – as well as the text and voice message left on my phone.

I have not been able to communicate with anyone since the other night as I have been recovering from what ended up being an unsuccessful attempt to end the pain.

At the time I was in a very distressed state and I did want to stop the pain and all I seemed to achieve is to cause others pain and worry and that is the last thing I wanted to do – I just wanted to end mine and say goodbye to everyone beforehand so my future absence was explained. I should have realised that the message I posted would have concerned some people but I really was not in any state to think about the repercussions for others.

I am so sorry I caused so much distress to others – that is something I will have to hopefully try and live with.

I don’t believe after the concern and anxiety I caused to so many that I will ever be able to return to the forum.

Can someone from the SANE team please explain all this to all those involved and pass on my gratitude for their compassion, concerns and kind words throughout the time I have been part of the ‘forum family’.

Thank you and sorry again for the difficult position I put everyone in.

Zoe7

I do not want any responses from any of you. I just wanted to let you know exactly what has happened and let you know how truly sorry I am for hurting people I have come to think of as friends and family, and who I really care about.

Your support, advice and compassion are what make you all the wonderful people you are.

@utopia and @Former-Member I am so sorry that the trust you placed in me has now been broken because of my actions. I also felt that we had a stronger connection, especially over the last week, and you both helped me in ways I cannot even describe or explain. I was not pulling away from you two - just wanted to pull away from myself. I couldn't cope with my own feelings and no-one or nothing was actually going to be able to stop me at the time. It's now just another failure to add to my list of failures. I really don't know what else to say to you both but to reiterate my heartfelt 'sorry'.

@Zoe7. im proud of you for having the courage to call her. You never know. She ended up working on a Monday after all. I should do what you did and call my clinic. My doctor works Thur and Fri. But who knows. She may go in another day.

Toby is beautiful. Our pets so love us and only ever want us to be happy. Oh and fed. lol.

I have a few dog toys here with holes in them that near repairing. I just haven't been bothered, I can be pretty lazy at times.

@Faith-and-Hope thanks for your support over the last few days - you may not think so but it really has meant a lot

Re: Am Not Coping

@Zoe7. I understand that frustration of trying to balance your mental health and your need for income. I've struggled with that for the past 3 years. Been a struggle on reduced Workcover payments on a part time income. 80% of 3 days income is not alot - especially with a mortgage and a teenager.

But your gp may well have some suggestions to help with this. So be sure to mention it to her. As it does affect our anxiety and depression and sleep and the cycle continues. So it's important to see if she may have some answers.

@utopia Not quite that courageous - texted instead. Didn't think I'd be able to talk and certainly didn't want her to hear me - she would know instantly I wasn't doing well - yes she is THAT good. She does usually work Mondays but I though she was off until Wed for some reason - maybe I just got my wires crossed in the state I've been in this week - saw her last Mon morning and didn't have the courage to tell her then how bad I was feeling and then (as you know) I went downhill really quickly after that.

I think you should get those dog toys out and sew with me tonight - try not to use a really sharp needle because I know how accident prone you are!!

@Zoe7. Yes I am accident prone. Needles and me don't mix. Insects and me don't mix. Heights and me don't mix. I'm a mess. lol

Re: Am Not Coping

@utopia We have previously discussed work and when I was able I looked into it and found my income protection OR using the remainder of my long service leave are my only options. The problem is - if I use any of my long service leave right now then I will not be able to access my income protection - have to have been off work (on sick leave) for at least 90 days and although I had to use some LSL at the end of last year I was still officially under a medical certificate. If I coud get through the first term on full salary and then drop back second term I would be able to catch up again - but that just isn't how it works!

Re: Am Not Coping

@Zoe7 You would have so much to offer the children ... but for long term viability .. I guess work with GP on best approach .. yeah trudging through all that mud is a bit yuk.

@Former-Member

was dealing with similar questions last year .. and managed to put in a year of FT work while facing many challenges ..

tagging you dear

Re: Am Not Coping

These rules are bloody frustrating @Zoe7. Well hopefully your gp and psychologist can come up with a plan to get you through the first term.

I applied at the last year against my income protection insurance. I put in my claim. I only have the base cover - as due to my medical history I couldn't get more insurance. So now they are playing silly buggers with me. No, I don't have insurance. I had no coverage at the time I got sick. BS. No. I don't have insurance beause my super wasn't paid into my account by my employer. BS. No I have no insurance because dates are missing on my account. BS. We are literally talking about a claim, after they deduct money I have already received as my workcover income (not a payout), of under $10,000.

I have lost a hell of a lot more in reduced income/workcover payments than that. Plus. I'm not allowed to sue my employer, because get this, I have gotten better. Seriously. I am no longer sick enough to sue them. But if I had of sued when I was first sick, my disability psych percentage would have been high enough, for me to go to court. But when I was that sick I was too sick to do anything about it. lol

Seriously I can't win. I'm not asking for anything I am not legally entitled too. They just keep holding off - hoping I will eventually forget, give up and go away. lol.

If I don't laugh. I cry. Got to laugh.
