Starting anew

Starting anew

I am starting a new online course and looking forward to moving away from a traumatising hospital experience three years ago. I have been stable and steady within my life and hope to improve even further while I study and plan for my future.

Re: Starting anew

Hello @JaneDoe1, So you have officially started studying. Don't panic, yes one at a time.

I did not have a time limit on mine but I managed to do my whole coures in 11 months. I had 13 subjects/assessments to do.

The best way for you to break it down would be to get the 400 hours and divid it by the number of assessments. This will give you a GUILD LINE time limit for each assessement.

Some assessments will take longer and some you will breeze through.

Definately try to stick to doing one assessment at a time as you may get confused. The only time I did more than one was when I was waiting for my assessor to come out to help me. While I was waiting for a time to suit her, I moved onto another assessment that I knew I may have trouble with (and I did) so when she came out she helped me with both. This just made it easier for both of us because of the travel distant for her (2hrs).

Take your time.

Take plenty of breaks.

Don't panic.

Enjoy what you are learning.

Have a great day:)

Re: Starting anew

I've started my first assessment. I'm taking it easy and going question by question. I've read through the next two assessments and both are full of stuff I have done in my work life. So tempting to start them just because I know how to do most of it. I know it is important to do one at a time so I'll complete my first one then move onto the next. I'm pleasantly surprised at how good I feel after doing some work. Looking forward to submitting my first assessment.

Re: Starting anew

@Heart Hello.
I've submitted my first assessment today. They suggested to get it in within two weeks and I was able to do that. Very happy my stress levels aren't blowing out. I get positive stress and acknowledge it is normal and pace myself.

Hello @janedoe2, Well done. What was that subject and what is your next? Glad you are listening to your stesses and not letting them get out of hand. Keep up the good work and speak soon.

Just remember one subject at a time, take your time, take breaks, and enjoy what you are learning.

Re: Starting anew

@janedoe2. Well done on getting your first assignment done. I love that you are acknowledging healthy stress versus unhealthy. That's really important to know the difference.
Brilliant news.

Re: Starting anew

Hi @Heart. I completed and passed the 'OHS' unit. Yay! I'm onto 'Produce simple word processed documents' now. I have two assessments for this unit. Most questions are about stuff I have done before working in an office. Doing good so far. A little nervous about units I don't know about at all.

Re: Starting anew

Got a pass for my first assessment. I received a detailed marked copy of my paper. It was great!

Hello @janedoe2, How is it all going. I hope you are taking time out evey now and then to relax a bit and not over do it.

Re: Starting anew

Hello @Heart. All is going good. I'm pacing myself and doing what I can when I feel the want to study.
I submitted the first of two assignments. Got the results this morning. I passed! Very exciting. Now I can focus on the 2nd assignment at a comfortable pace.
My stress levels are affected in a positive stress kind of way. I have to approach life a little carefully as I stretch my boundaries and study. I appreciate you reminding me to not over do it.
I do relax when I need a break.
I'll keep you up to date.
