Hi @Nj03 ,

I'm so sorry to hear about what's been happening for you. I sense this is an incredibly difficult time.

My heart goes out to you.

Allow yourself to feel. Allow yourself to grieve. Treasure the 7 weeks you've had with your dear grandson.

Please know you are not alone. We are here for you and sitting with you.

I am the parents sold support. They are young 22/23 years old. I don’t think I will get through this.

Hey @Nj03 ,

I'm really sorry to hear this.

It must be a lot for you to be their sole support.

Has the hospital linked you and the parents' into any supports?

What supports do you have for yourself @Nj03 ?

Are there things you can do to help yourself?

Have you heard of Griefline? They may be a service worth while contacting if you feel you need to speak to someone: https://griefline.org.au/

Re: Loss of grand child

Hi @Nj03

I don't know what it's like to lose a grandchild - however I have lost a child and know how devastating this is - I really feel for you.

Under these circumstances I can say you will survive it - however - it will be hard - and there is no easy way through - I only wish there were words I could say.

I do consider this though - these past few weeks is your grandson's time on earth - and I am sure he has been loved and cared for and whatever else he has suffered - he has brought joy as well as anguish to your family. In life - we have both -

I am sorry such a short life is being grieved - he is a valuable soul and "good-bye" seems inadequate - I know.

Hold him in your heart and remember him - he has been welcomed on earth

All my love and understanding

Re: Loss of grand child

Hi @Nj03

I just ever so gently wanted to say how deeply sorry I am to hear that you’ve been told to say goodbye to your baby grandson 💜

The pain associated with your loss sounds almost indescribable and I can’t even begin to imagine how it must feel for you to try and find a way to survive something so unbearable.

Sadly, so many of the important and special people in little one's lives aren’t always offered the care and support they need which can often result in its own unique kind of heartache.

I hate to think of you trying to find your way through this alone and so I’ve just shared a couple of resources with you, in the hope that these particular services may be able to offer you some additional care and support.

Thinking of you and sending you some very caring and gentle hugs 🤗
