First World Problems

First World Problems

So, I'm feeling a bit put out. I have multiple mental health conditions as well as a spinal injury with chronic pain. As a result I am supported by the NDIS. Specifically, in this case, I usually get a cleaning service every 2 weeks to do the things I can't do like change my sheets. I have changed cleaning services a couple of times because cleaning services in particular seem to charge for much more than the time they actually attend. I started with a new service today. I had asked in advance whether they could do the sheet change and they said yes. But the couple who came to actually do the job weren't part of the initial conversation and they seem put out by the request. Once they finished the cleaning service one of them started asking what was wrong with me with a real tone in their voice. I stayed calm and answered honestly including mentioning that I have a spinal injury. They then started asking me how I acquired the injury, etc. The answer is dark and awkward but I explained it anyway. That seemed to shut her down a bit but the conversation was weird and pretty awkward. I'm pretty convinced that I just got deemed unworthy of help. And on one hand - go me - my walking is good now you can't really tell that I have a spinal injury. And on the other hand I feel put out and I want to fire them on the spot but I won't because that would be awkward too. First world problem, I know.

Anyone else got a first world problem for the day?

@tyme

Lol not being able to find (or even searching on the first place for) a "first world problem". .. sounds exactly like a first world problem in itself!!

The antidote to that is to voice gratitude for all our first world non-problems!

Today i am grateful for the kindness of the people at the market place this morning.

And yes internet is slow here too...

Re: First World Problems

Ok, I'll take your advice @OM108 , the house it is.

My first world problem for the day is VicRoads love's to see how my licence is going on a regular basis. So gracious. For this viable first world person.

The good news is that Nanny and Gramps don't have to go through the stress and worry that I do. After all it's old first world standards.

My other first world problem is that I had in my possession the falsified documents and corrupted names from [a service]. I made later enquiries but, aagggh, what could I do.

When corruption becomes the only way to do business, that's a first world problem.

Re: First World Problems

Hey everyone,

Thank you very much @8ppleTree, my hand has healed well 🙂

And good one @OM108, it is indeed the ultimate first world problem, haha 😂

I hope it is just in need of pumping up, @tyme!

Today's first world problem is that it's quite cold today and my study window still isn't fixed, so socks and gloves it is.

I hope you're all having a good week! 🧡

Hey @defaultusername @FridgeMagnet @Stout @OM108 @8ppleTree ,

I'm glad your wound is healing well.

For today, my first world problem is that the heater is drying out my skin lol....

Re: First World Problems

Hi @tyme , sorry I don't get it. Something to do with a shower maybe.

Re: First World Problems

All good @Stout .

When I have the heater on, it dries up the air which in turns dries me out like a prune! I get dry lips and hands, and skin in general!

My first world problem is that we drove for an hour to go look at an old Harley for sale and hubby couldn’t lift his leg up high enough getting on and off. So we didn’t buy it. I am disappointed and he is too. He’s a lot older than he used to be.
