Hi guys,

So I have this idea for a cook along. So once a fortnight or so I will look up an easy recipe on YouTube. Then whoever fancies having a go cooks it and posts pictures of what your creations ended up looking like. The idea is to have fun and not expect perfection.

Here is the first recipe. Your mission if you choose to accept it is to post pictures by Sunday 24th March 2024. That way it will encompass everyone’s paydays. It looks pretty simple and you probably already have some ingredients in your pantry. Good luck and tag others in. Thanks guys…

My children enjoyed the creamed corn and chicken soup at Mongolian restaurant, so I made it regularly, though now, maybe a couple times a year

@TABthe roast is fine to suit yourself, easy and meaty. We don’t do cabbage often in our house, (handful times in 20 years..lol) but price of vegetables through the roof, I did some recently.

@Oaktree that pie looks delicious! It sounds a bit like my chicken and leek risotto, I don't really follow a recipe, just throw the ingredients into my risotto cooker and let it do the work.

Sometimes coconut milk, sometimes coconut cream. My local supermarket butcher does a good chicken bones deal, so there is plenty of chicken and broth, 2 cans creamed corn, spring onions, green beans, plus garlic, splash of soy sauce, sprinkle chili flakes.

I am cooking a gingerbread house from scratch for Christmas. I haven’t made one for years but I have a crate full of stuff for it. The last pieces are in the oven now.
