@Spookytookims, yes, I'm going to try to convey what I like about the image track to her in the email. I've had situations before where collaborators and I haven't agreed and usually I've agreed with what they've said too. In this case I would like to see if I can turn around her thinking because I think what I've done is good in its way.

ll I hope you can make her feel it.. because as a writer.. and you are probably the same with your videos @Mazarita... my work is personal to me. Her poem is also probably very personal to her too, but I'm sure if you can get her to feel what you are trying to convey in your video and how it works with her words, you may help her see more of where you are going with it.

She probably has an idea in her head of what she wanted, so somehow you have to help her see there is another way to view it and visually present it. Good luck! Not an easy task if you are dealing with someone who doesn't like abstract you might be dealing with someone who just can't see passed their own idea of it too. *fingers crossed for you that you aren't".

@Spookytookims, thanks for your perspective. I really appreciate it. Yes, that's why it might take me all day in fits and starts to express what I would like to say. There's no doubt that the poem is personal to her, as is what I express in bringing together text, image and sound in video. The poem all in the first person and is journal-like in its subject. Basically a series of everyday moments including dreams and memory.

then I think you abstract idea would work perfectly... I can see that for those themes.... @Mazarita In fact I can't really see anything else. She probably only has the idea of nature in her head as "whimsical" I guess. Probably not quite the right word.

@Spookytookims, the other thing I want to give some real time to in my thinking about it today is whether I am willing to explore trying again with the image track, working this time with her ideas more closely. There may be something worthwhile to be learned in that process as well.

Well I can see that too... because even if you end up liking your way better.. doing it her way might give you something new to draw on.. and who knows how you might use it in the future - so if she won't venture into your territory she doesn't learn but you venturing into hers might give you something new so yeah.. that's a good way to look at it @Mazarita
