Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Possibly subconsciously processing everything that needs to be done in the next week.

Was suposed to have a first draft of asesment to review with lecturer on Monday morning, have not started yet. Bit hard to ask for extensions when I havent even started.

Have a group assesment on tuesday morning (was put off from last week for my benifit) have to memorise 15min presentation over the weekend but short term memory shot at the moment.

Have to talk to doc about admission dates on monday. Would make it so much easier if it can be put off till the end of this month but not sure if that is possible or prudent. Dont even know time frames or what is the process, have been told nothing. Want to ask for an appointment so it can all be explained but dont want my wanting infomation to be seen as resisting or lack of support.

Worried about impact on work due to me being indecisive about available days, boss lady was going to call today but hasn't, made a commitment now potentially left them short staffed if I cant work the days i comitted to.

Stressing out about family politics when it comes to getting help with the children.

So when i scratch the surface i guess there is a bit going on

Was able to talk to our pastor today, that was a big help @Former-Member,

Hey @Determined
Hope you did manage to get a bit of shut eye. Yes, we can only do so much, but that does not stop us wanting to do our best in difficult and heart wrenching circumstances. Living grief ... all I can do is continue to encourage you to take advantage of available supports which are there to help, we cannot do it alone.

Hi @Former-Member

Finally drifted off sometime after 3 I think. Just coming to now with a massive headache. Could have slept on but the little people are getting rather enthusiastic with their play and the noise woke me. At least bub is still sleeping. Darling is out riding on her bike. It is in a group where there are people who understand her and support her so I am happier than if she was out by herself.

How are things for you? I think of your situation a lot and am encouraged by your ability to help so many other people through your own trials. Appreciate your words of encouragement and support.

@Determined
When Mr Darcy attempted, my heart was torn. Whilst under repair and with Divine mercy, renewed love for Mr D was implanted and along with it compassion and understanding of a suffering community. I have found it difficult to let go and trust the process. Even in regard to his Dx, a year ago I would not have been ready to accept that which I will now be able to. Repair work still in progress ...

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Accepting the dx and trusting the process is one of my biggest challenges atm @Former-Member. There is always the doubt, could I have done more. Our current situation partly aided by the fact i committed myself elsewhere and doing somthing for myself.

There are lots of other things I need to let go of also that I had hoped one day we could work through together and resolve (relationship), possibly influenced by but outside of the illness. Sadly there is limited ability/ intrest to address these issues so will likely never happen. Hard not to feel resentful some days when it us so one sided but I need to let go forgive and move on. Will always remain committed to loving and supporting the best i can, just wish it wasnt so hard.

It is good to hear and encouraging that you have found healing for yourself and renewed love for mr Darcy. Seeking and drawing on some devine mercy and grace to enable the same in myself.
