Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hello @PeppiPatty, over here my special friend xx

Hello Everyone

Love to hear from others on the forum if you experience this

My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Don`t know if I am making this up , but i have that feeling ,

Always hard to know @Determined, everyone has ups and downs regardless. Sadly I think Mr Darcy is going downhill again...

Hello @Anony18, @Maryjune, @Former-Member, @Former-Member , @Determined, @Rose96

my hubby is worried about his lack of emotions today , he says it has been happening over the last month

He is cutting out his meds by half , he has tried this before but has reacted diferently each time

we thought by reducing his meds , he would feel the up and go he had before , but this time seems different

he has been talking about it and i said that I have noticed that this time is different or could it just be his Mental illness that is doing this

Is he reducing his medication under advice of Doctor?

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hi all!
How are you going today?

Thank you @Determined and @Shaz51.
We had a great day at the races! Even My partner said he enjoyed himself so that was a relief.
It's always the few days after that I worry about though, he's started declining again. He feels ashamed and embarrassed that other friends are doing well in jobs when he can't seem to figure out what he wants to do. He had a grand plan leaving high school then it all sort of fell apart. We are both 24 and I still don't know what I want to do, so I try to comfort him and say we have plenty of time! But i understand his frustration.
We have made him a resume to send around but he still hasn't done anything with it and I don't want to push him. He just has so much time to himself as I'm at work and he doesn't work very many hours. I'm trying to get him to take up a hobby, he's a really good drawer and painter. But he feels like it's too much pressure.
He's not been sleeping well and now I've got a cold so I feel like I've not been there enough for him because I'm exhausted all the time.
I have today off work so I'm going to try to get him an appointment with the psychologist as he still hasn't made one for himself. He's not been in about 2 months. Considering how little effort he's put into looking after his mental health the last few months I'd say he's not going too bad (trying to look at the bigger picture)

How's your wife going @Determined? And how are you? I hope her cold clears up soon!

How are you and Mr Shaz going @Shaz51?
Is Mr Shaz feeling any better with the reduction of meds?

How are you doing today @Former-Member?

@Rose96 lovely to hear you had a good day out.

Mr Darcy going steady, not sure if his current anxiety is just par for the course or not. I don't think he will be able to get paid employment again. He is doing a bit more round home but could not really say he is enjoying it, the same could be said for the voluntary work he does each Thursday afternoon. He is very good going to appointments as long as they are scheduled, he would not take up the offer of an earlier pdoc appt with a locum.
In the "what's new" tab I have put articles on carer grief and patient grief in relation to MI.

Thank you for the hug @Former-Member, need that at the moment 😟

In the middle of a crisis at the moment. Was ready to call for help before but things settled a bit when I made it clear that I would be making a call. Just waiting to see which way things go. If things dont improve may need to go to the hospital. They have refused to help in the past so reluctant.
