Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hello @PeppiPatty, over here my special friend xx

Hello Everyone

Love to hear from others on the forum if you experience this

My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Don`t know if I am making this up , but i have that feeling ,

Morning @Shaz51 and waves to @Former-Member @Bunniekins @Owlunar

Geee .. Thursday is a big day then Shaz with blood tests for kidney compatibility to start. Sure do hope that goes well and that Mr Shaz is a compatible donor. It is a huge thing to donate a kidney, I've always heard that its a bigger deal for the donor than it is for the recipient. But I cant see how that would be. Either way .. its a massive undertaking for anyone.

We are getting rain here this morning too Shaz. First rain in a few weeks, so its good and much needed.

I expect Mr Shaz is becoming less anxious about cleaning jobs beginning to return now that some COVID restrictions are starting to be relaxed. Damn ... just when he was starting to get his head around semi-retirement. 🤣💓 At least he has had a taste of semi retirement now and hopefully it wont be so bad when you do decide to retire. How are you getting along with your application for DSP and/or Carers Payment? I really hope you follow through on that. Its important that you do.

Hope today is a quiet day for you and it allows you to fit in a bit of rest and relaxation. Thinking of you, my beautiful friend.

Hi @Shaz51

It's great that some of your clients are coming back - I wish you both the best

And for the upcoming tests for kidney compatibility too - this is a big deal and really a huge thing for Mr Shaz to want to donate a kidney - it does depend on more things than blood type though - differences in all sorts of things - gee - that's a lot

I have heard that it's harder on the donor than the recipient - and that's because the person who needs the new kidney has been battling for a long time and the donor is in good health -

I really hope whoever it is that you can get a new kidney soon Shaz - you have been battling for a long time - and it is all a huge deal - and how great for Mr Shaz if he can donate - that would be marvellous

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

thank you @Former-Member , @Former-Member and my second mum @Owlunar

seeing the doctor tomorrow to get the ball rolling

I am a bit worried of how mr shaz will cope

My MIL said a lot a negative things when we visited her on saturday

one step at a time here

and we were able to mow extra lawns this afternoon , so that will ease the pressure off mr shaz

it is soooooo hard when you have postive on one side of the family ( my side )

and negative respond on the other side

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hi @Shaz51

I'm sure your MIL had a not to say about a kidney transplant and there is some advice etc that you would rather not have - I am sure of that

And Mr Shaz will have his moments too - that's his way of dealing with things - somehow I feel that if he is okay to the the donor then it might be easier for him to really be able to do something to help - time will tell -

And yes - it is a big deal - but I can't help thinking how much difference it will make to your health to have a well-functioning kidney - I bet you can't imagine what it will be like

All the best - thinking of you

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

hello @Owlunar

very true and that is why we want to get things rolling as my condition will get worse in the future , there is no getting away from that

kidney funtion will continue going down but one good news is my funtion is going down slowly

and then we got dialysis in the future

so mr shaz and i would like to be able to before that happens xoxo

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Of course @Shaz51

It's really time consuming and inconvenient having dialysis - who would want that as necessary as it has to be at times

Let's hope you can get a transplant really soon - well - we can hope
