My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Don`t know if I am making this up , but i have that feeling ,

Just in case I didnt feel bad enough one of the children just asked why was I never happy 😕 No malice in it. Just genuinely wants to see me happy.
Think he is worried about my new job as he associates me working with me being tired and (more) grumpy 😕

Oh no @Shaz51 .... is that Take 4 on your ear wax ?

No, WH not going to hospital .... at this stage anyway .... he has had many kidney stones before, and is carrying emergency medications for it .... but if it gets really bad he will end up going and needing X-rays probably, to determine the size of the stone and whether it can be passed naturally.

Hey @Determined
Getting support for ourselves is so important; it is so so easy to get lost in our loved ones illness. We know it is the illness and not the person and would never think less of you or your darling for you needing to get things off your chest. Bro, mental illness is a burden which is too heavy to carry on your own and at times it can be hard to know how one can get through when ones heart us breaking for the one we love and for ourselves.

If you feel the need, Beyond Blue have a service you might like to access for a chat - this can be done online if you are not able to talk on the phone.

Thinking of you @Determined ..... 🌷

@Shaz51 .... WH has a bag full of medicines for self-treating general health problems because he is so run down and often suffers soft-tissue injuries, and it includes pain relief meds in case of kidney stones, because he gets them every couple of years or so .....

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Thanks @Former-Member appreciate it,

I was supposed to be commencing councilling with a community centre last week but postponed it as I cant take bub with me (centre policy).

It Would have worked well being able to go at the same time as my darling was doing her group thing at the hospital due to the travel involved (out of town) but that would be too easy. I wouldn't think of taking him if I thought he was going to be a problem but rules are rules.

Thought of asking my mum if she wanted to come with us and look after bub while I had my appointment but that is an added stress in its self as I cant do that without a sibling taking over and having to know all of the details. (parasite lives at home and bludges off mum). Probably making things harder for myself but sne absolutely will not be left with bub. Mum wont respect our wishes in this regard. Gave me a spray while darling was in hospital last about not 'sharing' my children with the sibling. (Yes she actually used tbe word share).

Have another appointment scheduled for next week and still debating what to do. Last week older boys were on school hols so further complicated things, they are back school now so a bit easier but still dont have the energy to argue about why cant the parasite help.

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

I have accessed the free university councilling service previously but current councillor is a waste of space. (She is the one who referred me to the community service), I think more so she didnt have to deal with me than to actually help me. Her predessor was amazing and I woild have given up on study without her support, not to mention the encouragement she gave me in supporting my darling. Uni really dropped the ball letting her leave (it was a hours thing, she was part time and got offered full time elsewhere).
