Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hello @PeppiPatty, over here my special friend xx

Hello Everyone

Love to hear from others on the forum if you experience this

My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Don`t know if I am making this up , but i have that feeling ,

Yes I very much agree with you regarding the 'guilt trip' @Shaz51 . But it sounds like it was worth it. For the carers application, ensure you mention everything you do for your mum, even if it may seem relatively minor. Its all relevant, and it all counts. Yep, my fingers are crossed for you, along with toes, tongue and eyes. 😳

Hey @Shaz51 I completely echo what @Former-Member has said in her last 2 posts - could not put it better. Go you for getting your hair done - you totally deserve a treat and a me moment now and then. Best wishes for a positive outcome with the carer application.

Hope Mr Shaz stays in his better mood for you and that today goes well xx

Mower back = yay @Shaz51 . Has this helped improve Mr Shaz's mood?

How are you traveling today?

Has this helped improve Mr Shaz's mood? --- ohh it sure has my @Former-Member

we have had a talk about the plan for next 5 years ahead or soo until mr shaz can retire

he is really concerned and worried about what we should do

I told him ---we will have our ups and downs but I think this is the best way for us to go at the moment until he can retire

me , I am coming back again , I wish it was me all the time my friend

Being a bit naughty here @Shaz51 but perhaps when Mr Shaz mentions retirement again you could say "in your dreams..." (with a big smile of course).

If Mr D complains about my self care I remind him that I am his beloved and as such I need to be treated with gentleness and tenderness and encouraged to attend to my physical and emotional needs, always said with a smile and/or a playful hug of course.

"in your dreams..." ha ha that is mr shaz`z new saying to me at the moment @Former-Member , arggggg

I need to be treated with gentleness and tenderness and encouraged to attend to my physical and emotional needs, always said with a smile and/or a playful hug of course.-- ha ha I love it @Former-Member , hope mr Darcy agrees

sure mr shaz would agree too sometimes xxx

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Mr Darcy pretty good @Shaz51 , he doesn't mind me doing things, just asks if it is "in the budget" and I am mindful of that. The last time I had my hair done I treated myself to a wash as well, but will go back to presenting with damp hair as it is more economical and I would rather spend the money on something else.

Haven't needed to say it recently, think a lot of it was more low self esteem on my part and that when I actually started looking after myself a lot better it helped me with the caring side of things and I started to encourage him a lot more.
