Hello Everyone

Love to hear from others on the forum if you experience this

My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Don`t know if I am making this up , but i have that feeling ,

thank you @Determined , hugs back to you too

@Appleblossom

biggest problem was that mr shaz had one thing and only one thing in his mind

and things happened and mistakes happened but he had to get this thing done or else

so now he is suppose to do a online training to help him --- but i know he won`t do it

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hi @Shaz51

You do have a lot happening right now - so much on your mind with your Mum - I agree with you that she wants to stay at home for as long as she can - to die at home - it's her choice and if you are able to handle this then that is the best for both of you

But you have your aunty and your cousin interferring thinking what they want is best - I can only support you in your decision about that - I would want to stay in my own home too - I get it. I hear you

About Mr Shaz - I know things went very bad for him in the past and he lost a lot of things and life-issues that were important to him - this was the start of his MI. He used to take himself to hospital when he felt he needed to - and of course often went to bed to deal with the way he felt

But running off so everyone needed to search for him and the worry it must have caused you - that sounds very bad to me - I hear that a lot of your work equipment went on strike and that is enough for you to deal with as I know he can't really - but it is just a strain for you when he doesn't want to help himself

That has to be the hardest part Shaz - it seems childish - I know he has MI and can't help that. But right now you have your Mum to care for as well as him. It's a lot

Oh dear - I hope I haven't said too much. I wasn't here most of the weekend and missed all your drama - I had to read back a few pages - yes - it was a lot of running around and Mr Shaz had a breakdown - and what a rotten weekend for you

Sending my best thoughts my other daughter

From your second Mum

Sadly I have been there. Crying why I was cooking as too many things going on for far too long, but still people need to eat.

Even fruit needs prep

That fruit-platter looks so good @Appleblossom

My mouth is doing a magnificant water atm - I really love fruit

Alas - some wives do have 'em - my ex-h could get really stuck in whatever task he had chosen to attend to - pity about the rest of the world and our children who had accidents

I hear that there are other people dealing with men who are in different ways task- oriented while their partner, wife, other-half, defacto whomever deals with whatever crises - large or small - the children have created - in all innocence.

I was never alone - I just didn't have access to electronic media back then - I just yelled a lot and drove my kids to the ED - sigh - apart from the yelling I have nothing to suggest

And yes Apple - we all need to eat

Meant to say crying "while" cooking.

I did the opposite, apart from "flare ups" I mostly went mute. Silenced so often it was not conscious, just the way of it.

I am glad he helped. Rigid divisions of work boundaries re gender are just one of life's problems.
