Totally understand @Smc
I get so totally fed up with the shift changes I feel like tearing my hair out at times - but I have learned to be assertive and because I have a package with an agency I have learned to extend my assertive behaviour and friendly attittude in that direction and get help from a different agency other than the council - but it drains me
And I know other people dont have the core hours I do because I have been in the system for so long - and I wasn't grey and doddery when I started - but without this help I would be alone and think with chronic spinal pain it would very hard to cope with ordinary tasks like vacuuming and cleaning the shower etc - and I would fall back internet shopping but I really like to get out to the shops and the regular people I have are friendly - so it's a mixed bag of goodies but I wouldn't want my daughter doing all that for me - I just can't see her being happy about it but I might be wrong
The last thing I want to do is go into an old age place and I know they vary and my parents were in a very good one but I didn't like it there - it felt like the inside of the Titanic and I felt like running round yelling "Jack. Jack" and felt as if I was in a maze with identical passages going everywhere
As someone said - ''Óld age is no place for sissies" - I so agree. And I get annoyed when people tell me that age is only a number or people are only as old as they feel. I tell them to wait until they get here -
So - we are stuck with choices we would rather not make - I get it
