Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hello @PeppiPatty, over here my special friend xx

Hello Everyone

Love to hear from others on the forum if you experience this

My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Don`t know if I am making this up , but i have that feeling ,

@Maryjune
Each state has an emergency crisis team linked to the public health system. What state are you in?

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

hi @Rose96 well I did stay up in the room and he's in the lounge room , I end up driving to the mall for groceries and quick massage to give him space..I asked our neighbor if she could look at him once in a while and left my number to her..so far so good I'm home and he is sleeping peacefully I didn't see or smell beer nor pot so he kept his promise that's a good sign.

@@Darcy thanks for the super helpful info as usual I'm the lost foreigner , state is in NSW. it would be very much helpful if I could know numbers for emergency.. so far I think his depression has mellow down..I just hope he can sleep later at night as he slept whole day today.

Hi @Former-Member

WH is back next week.

Had an up and down 24 hours yesterday .....

My S2 is struggling with situational depression but refusing to go to our dr for help ..., messy anyway cos WH developed his eating disorder under a weight loss program overseen by this dr .... I don't blame the dr, WH was being deceitful and manipulative, and following family of origin dysfunctional behaviours / ideas about food / body image .... hiding his real state from the dr. S2 is part in denial, and part not wanting to add to the mess or tip the balance re WH ....

Clear as mud, huh ?

And then our long term gardener / handyman, who is a bit of a princess, spat the dummy about something he was reminded about, spoke to me very rudely, and quit ..... insisting that he will work out 2 weeks notice despite the fact that I asked him not to be here, because he told WH he would, so he is going to ....

I could put a lock on the gate and shut him out, but I won't .... he had a heart attack a few month ago so I don't want to escalate it further for his health's sake, and I am not vindictive, but for my own self-care I will avoid being here when he is.

Thank you for the message above. I have been meaning to locate and memorise the number for our state's emergency team in case I am in need of it, and have now done so.

Today has been okay, except I left for my walk as this rude gardener arrived, but I just ignored him and walked away ..., went for a looooong walk.

💜💕

Don't know how things work in NSW, some other forum members have had difficulty.

I think to be successful in the public system you need to be understand how it operates and how you fit in to it. Their services are stretched, I try and show appreciation when appropriate but expect clear communication.

Hello @Faith-and-Hope, @Former-Member, @Maryjune, @Rose96, @Determined

Ohhhhh @Attahua, I am sorry my friend , I didn`t get you email

there has been no contact with his MH worker in probably the past six months and no pysch appointment -- same here with my hubby , but it has been a year here

Hubby is starting to overthink again, about his children as his depression and anxiety are passed down, and he is thinking about his meds and the pysch again

take care @Attahua xx and keep in touch

my 4 step children are sooo much like their dad
