My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Hi @Shaz51

Does it mean he needs to alter his diet then? How is both of you coping with the news?

Believe it is great news he has to stay on both his anti anxiety & anti depressant meds

@Anony18, sending you hugs , my friend

The specialist said if he wanted to go off the meds , he will have to do it over a 18 months period

he can not cope without the meds so the specialist said to do regular 3 monthly checkups to see how he is going

@Shaz51

Glad you were able to make the appointment unhindered. Good news that hubby can stay on the meds with some monitoring, I trust that you are ok with that outcome. How is miss Debbie looking from your end?

hello @Determined, @Former-Member, @Anony18, @Rose96, @Amy2

the appointment with the specialist went good , all the blood test came back ok ,except for one which he has very high Cholesterol

He wants to stop the meds , he has tried reducing the meds but soon finds out he can not cope without them

the specialist said he needs to take a long time to go off them , he has been on them for a year and a half

he wants to go off them on his own

hope everyone is ok

talk to you tomorrow , this silly cyclone

Hi @Shaz51

I know Mr Darcy would love to not have to take his 'head meds' but the reality is that he needs them (he has different diagnosis). To my mind the stakes are too high for unsupervised discontinuation.

Sounds like the pdoc is happy to supervise and monitor Mr Shaz withdraw meds and I personally think this is a really good offer that warrants serious consideration.

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Thankyou @Former-Member. I got hubby to the airport for his flight this morning at 5.45am, and he has made it safely to Sydney. Now he is just awaiting his international flight.

So it was an early start to the day, and I decided to take my dog Holly for a final 'training run and fitout' with her car travelling harness. So I drove to a rec ground in town and took her for a good long walk.

Hot and sweaty now though as it is quite hot and muggy here today. And I got eaten alive my mosquitoes. Yuk!

Anyway Holly seems okay with the harness, although a little bit 'pee'd off' that she hasnt got the run of the car like she usually does for short trips. But she'll be fine, I'm sure once we get going.

Thanks for your well wishes for the trip away. I am just praying that the court hearing goes well for my poor brother, that is my main concern. So once thats over with on Thurs/Fri, hopefully I can enjoy a few days down there with all the family.

Thanks everyone.

Sherry xx
