Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hello @PeppiPatty, over here my special friend xx

Hello Everyone

Love to hear from others on the forum if you experience this

My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Don`t know if I am making this up , but i have that feeling ,

Good morning @Appleblossom 🙂 Yes, public services/welfare assistance/profit motives are all very distressing topics. I try to make my voice heard via Twitter - at least that way there’s a public record/evidence of dissent. Outsourcing is a concern too, agreed. Glad you’re learning to take a higher road for your wellbeing: I’ve had to do much the same with various situations in my life, particularly with child care. It’s amazing the strength we can find in ourselves and how we can come together to support each other. So glad this forum has lots of lovely people ready and willing to support those who reach out ☝🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽❤️

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

@Shaz51 yes, it’s become a matter of leaving Centrelink alone due to the deleterous effects on one’s mental health. It’s a sad state of affairs. There’s also talk of the NDIS rejecting claims for assistance for those with Autism. I just sigh and rage out on Twitter these days. I’ve pretty much given up hope of assistance and reclaimed my time and gone back to the studio to paint - which I would be doing anyway but with way less stress if we had a better support system! I’m just wondering how to get the message across to those who can do something positive to change the current system which doesn’t support those with MI and appears to be actually creating and exacerbating MI issues for individuals. ❤️❤️

Oh just some painting in the studio @Former-Member - grappling with a painting that’s about to turn the corner and resolve. Having a nice coffee at the monent, some “me” time. How about you? Glad you’re feeling blessed!

@xtine I so admire artistic talent, hope corner is turned and that grappling will result in satisfactory resolution.

Day off work today, grappling myself but with the mundane - housework (which along with the fine arts, I have no talent for) and the results are often far from satisfactory. We are gradually decluttering which is making the job easier.

Plan to have all inside jobs done as lunch out is probable. Mr D may want to catch up with friends for coffee. Otherwise if the weather remains fine we may even sort out a section of shed which is in dire need of attention.

Lovely that you have space to paint and projects of your own to work on. @xtine Though I agree making a crust in the arts is notoriously tough.

@Former-Member I have sorting and house stuff to do also. Rolled eyes ...

we dont have an emoticon for that do we??

@Shaz51 Yes keep looking after those kidneys.

I saw my ex ... and 3 of us had a "pleasant" discussion re world politics whilst with my son at court today.

Need a bit of down time now. Another month and I hope it will be finalised.
