My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life
do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??
Don`t know if I am making this up , but i have that feeling ,

@Shaz51 If things are wet I am assuming it would mean the grass grows quicker and the mowing side of the business picks up.
@Determined YouTube talk had Mr D snoozing in no time.
@PeppiPatty wondering if things are a bit tough at the moment
@Cath22 how are the med changes going @Sanatorium23 any improvements at your end? @perseverer I always think if you at these times - Mr D's pdoc reluctant to make any change to his meds until 6 months post surgery despite a monitoring threshold being reached. I said we wanted plenty of notice to look things up as to what alternatives are on offer but I am not happy as thresholds are in place so that preventative measures can be introduced. I do not want to let things get to the stage where crisis interventions are needed. She said his GP could refer to another specialist if needed (which really annoyed me as she is the one prescribing and it is her responsibility to monitor) I don't know whether or not to say something but feel inclined to but I already am waiting in outcome of the complaint I lodged - I also asked why standard dosing of one drug as per CMI and PI was not used as it makes monitoring of blood levels less accurate with one of his drugs (a critical issue with the therapeutic response) she said they look at the clinical response as a whole but I am really peeved about it as she is deviating from what I see as best practice. Mr D is not doing so well and he did not tell pdoc he was anxious.

Thinking of you @Former-Member. It’s no picnic, and it’s not fair for professionals to simply pull rank on you with things that don’t affect their daily living in any way, yet affect your daily living in every way .... 🙁

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness
I really see it as the doc not doing her job properly @Faith-and-Hope - pdocs are qualified doctors and should be knowledgeable and active in relation to dosing and appropriate follow up of the side effects in the drugs they routinely prescribe. The sad thing is I really do have a sense of humour which pdoc is yet to see ...

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness
That is how I have felt about my S2’s pdoc @Former-Member ...... only it’s not about medication. He handed down a harsh judgement over my character in front of my son, when I would have spent a total of half an hour in his company across the last year total ...... it’s not a judgement I recognise about myself, and neither do my family, friends, other professionals I have been dealing with. I reeled, and told my son how confused I was that the pdoc spoke as if he knows me, to which S2 responded that he has probably picked me as a personality type ...... okay, that could explain it, but it doesn’t excuse it.
While the core of my husband’s illness remains hidden, I am invalidated, and this issue is not being taken into account as a part of my son’s recovery.
We know your beautiful sense of humour. I am hoping that my perception so far that pdoc’s treat people like numbers and don’t deal in empathy is incorrect, so I am trying not o hold my ideas open to being proved wrong about that ...... my experience of pdocs being as limited as it is ....... but I leaves me feeling very sad at the moment, and sad to think of you being treated that way.
The upside is in telling us. We can tell you just how much of a treasure you have been for us here, and how welcome your delightful sense of humour is especially on a down day for others. You matter @Former-Member, and your feelings matter ...... grrrrr ...... persisting in your right to be heard encourages the rest of us to do the same.
