My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Don`t know if I am making this up , but i have that feeling ,

last night mr shaz took extra meds , today he is sooo stressed out, he feels he is going backwards , getting worse , we did one small job this morning but not moving off the couch since

I said we need to reduce the stress, all this is no good and gave him a solution but that is it

@Shaz51 ...

Opposite happening here, Mr Darcy is bored and I am not sure if he is a bit hype. He cleaned an annex room we have, took most of the gear to the shed where it does not belong and I am sure going by past experience it would have been stuffed in spots without adequate dust/spider protection (have not had a look yet). He has overdone things and his leg is sore. I know I have been decluttering slowly but am dealing with things properly, sorting, getting things put away properly and getting rid of what we don't need.

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

LoL @Former-Member that sounds like a determined solution.
Put it in the shed and deal with it later...
Problem is I never get back to it so the shed is a mess and difficult to get into.

That was supposed to be a holiday task bit haven't got there yet.

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

That’s what mr.f&h was doing with our storage area, half of which was supposed to be my studio ...... got so choked-up and messy you can’t find anything in the mess that was previously well-ordered and it encroached on the studio space so badly that I can’t bring myself to use it. I can’t face trying I sort it out again at the moment after thirty two years of alternating between trying to sandbag against that sort of tide, and mopping up after the tide has broken through ......

That aspect of my life is now on hold until we reach some sort of outcome on the mi front ..... I just can’t fight all wars at once.

Maybe after being away I will come back ready to take it in again, but not at the moment. We can all just live with this state of affairs, and maybe somewhere, sometime, there will be a sense of appreciation for what I have managed so well for so long.

Sorry for complaining fellow up and downers, I am grateful that Mr Darcy does get on and do things.

I didn't see it as complaining @Former-Member

@Faith-and-Hope ... Can only imagine the emotional upheaval happening in your life.

I am the messy one but cannot stand disorganized cupboards, would rather a messy bench until things get put away properly. Mr D stuffs anything and everything in bags and boxes willy nilly and has no idea what is where.

Ha ha @Determined, when Mr D was in hospital on one occasion a friend came and stayed, we got to and cleaned the shed, friends took 2 trailer loads of stuff to the tip.

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

I think it’s healthy to complain sometimes @Former-Member .... I don’t think any less of Mr. D as a result, and he was clearly endeavouring to help, as was mr.f&h with his endeavours ..... it has just resulted in cross-purposes.

I think in our situation everyone living with the discomfort of me not holding things together will bring into sharper focus what needs to be done to decluttering and maintain, and within an adult household that responsibility lies with everybody. There are only so many times / ways to try to say it ...... experience speaks louder than words.
