My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

@Shaz51 Does Mr Shaz find Christmas a bit difficult in any event? A relationship breakdown would only add to this.

Yes @Determined, I think ongoing support is necessary to avert carer burnout.

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

I think I have already achieved carer burnout @Former-Member, hanging on tightly at the moment so as not to sink any further. That was also on my mental list if things to discuss today but didn't get to it. My mind always goes blank when I go into appointments like that. I don't know why I don't just write things down beforehand.

Perhaps write it down now @Determined
Are you able to email list through?

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

I might ask when I ring for a new appointment in the new year @Former-Member
I might have to try and find someone locally if she thinks she can't help me any further. I always find it very difficult to start over with someone new... not looking forward to that.

Trust your new councillor goes well for you. Understand your frustration re the mindfulness. This is only the second person I have seen who has not raised it a solution to my problems.

A relationship breakdown would only add to this.-- True @Former-Member and being in that enviroment of S3 and partner still together won`t make it nice

Hearing you @Determined

@Shaz51 always seems to be something that puts a dampener on things

I know @Former-Member, @Determined, @Faith-and-Hope

Now Mr shaz does not know weather he want to go down and visit

Yes @Former-Member, at christmas I have to have a plan of what outings to go too -- too many is no good for mr shaz

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Sometimes it is honesty on the counsellors side. If they feel unable to help they should not be taking the money from you or Medicare. Different people can shed new light on the situation. Too many different people make a mess.

@Former-Member @Shaz51 @dands26 @Faith-and-Hope @Determined

Our NOT favourite time of year coming up.

I still managed a lovely sing last night after remaining calm but being late for an appointment in peak hour traffic.

Think I lost a friend, but it cant be helped.
