Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hello @PeppiPatty, over here my special friend xx

Hello Everyone

Love to hear from others on the forum if you experience this

My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Don`t know if I am making this up , but i have that feeling ,

I do manage time for myself. Thanks for asking. Not all the anger comes from him or the illness. There are periods in our life when we seem to have less control over things and less agency. This is one of those times...am working hard to react thoughtfully though rather than quickly. The emotions are pretty close to the surface but usually I just upset myself at the end of the day and that's not helpful. I'm usually pretty easy going and want to get that back.

Hope it won't be too much of a wait for you @Shaz51. Hope you are not too worn out after the last few days.
Hoping things will steady here a bit this week, last taper of pain meds has happened for Mr D so had a rough couple of nights.

@Sanatorium is your husband able to work?

He's not working at the moment and did earlier this year for the first time in awhile. It was hard and too stressful after awhile. Was retraining at tafe and doing great until a few weeks ago. He's not been well at all, but doing better last couple of days and especially today. Hopefully he will be able to make up the missed work and finish tafe. He wants to do it and to work, I just don't want him to push himself too hard.
