Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hello @PeppiPatty, over here my special friend xx

Hello Everyone

Love to hear from others on the forum if you experience this

My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Don`t know if I am making this up , but i have that feeling ,

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

somewhat phased / detached / limbo / drifting... today Shaz, hard to explain. Maybe the weather, maybe the grief thing, maybe mum... I could drift away easy tonight. Havd blurred vision after working this arvo as well as phasing, my higher self knows I shouldn't be alone, but what choice is there. I'll just have an early night. Are you more rested today after your big weekend? Oh, I can smell beautiful roses I acquired from work Saturday 🙂 so strong. Wish my mum would talk, and my sister. Do I deserve them it isolating me. ? best jot go there, very teary. Sorry, don't know where that came from, bet ya sorry ya asked. Everyone leaves

Sorry to hear you are feeling so down @Former-Member ..... but not at all surprised ..... you have had extraordinary struggles ongoing for quite some time now .... and the grief ahead of knowing that your mother’s time is running out, which means it is running out for her to show you the love that she has always struggled to.

I understand. I have that in someone who is not my mum ..... they are not able to invest in that sort of love ..... so those fleeting moments of gratitude are all that you will likely have, but know from the day she boasted about you that she does know your greater worth ..... just can’t tell you cos it feels too demeaning or something to her.

Hugs n Hugs Hon.

♥️

YEP like @Faith-and-Hope said

@Former-MemberWe wont leave you so dont fear that.

Just keep being you ... if any good comes from your mother and sister ... enjoy it ... but protect your heart.

I had to at the time of my mothers palliative care which went for 9 months. I made my choice of actions like you have and talked sternly to myself about not getting hopes up ... for any last minute death bed changes because they were unlikey to happen ..it helped steady me as the crashing feelings would be too hard to take. I do have a few good memories of visiting her there and my son went and I was proud of his respect and I saw lots of other family ... dont take their lack into your soul.

Just grab hold of your lil ole lady enjoying your sunset years your way.

Occasionally that VERY talented boy you raised will stick his nose in and check out how his mum is going ... at this age at least we are allowed to go slow and have our nanna naps.

I do love seeing you around the place.

Hiya @Shaz51 @Former-Member @Former-Member

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Yeah, my girls empty birthday this week as well as mum's distancing. Guess ya right that she will never show love I need / craved from her all my life. I'm nearly 60, how stupid am I to still expect it in her last days. I need family, especially now, all their support absence - daughter, sister, mother (in that order) it makes me makes me want to die. ta for caring so much 😭 Guess I shouldn't be like this here sorry 💜

@Former-Member Good to hear Mr Darcy picking up.

Will be thinking of you and pray further med changes go smoothly for you both.

Having the cattle out of the way would be a big relief, no good at all when they get feisty, I definitely don't miss that side of being on a farm.
