@Faith-and-Hope
Pdoc suggested that sometimes carers need to get support. I told her I was well supported (which I am) but reading between the lines to me I might need

@Faith-and-Hope

Reading between the lines, think they may feel I need to step back a bit and perhaps be a bit more trusting (something I do struggle with given past events) either that or I am coming across as anxious ... or both.

In any event, I will make an appt with a counselor to follow up.

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

I have found it worthwhile @Former-Member ..... just to have someone hear me in the first instance ..... understand and believe me in the second ...... be able to reassure me that I was doing everything within my power and the available support for my circumstances in the third ..... and to kee an eye on me to make sure I wasn't going under without realising.

When there is a heavy / unresolvable load to carry, I highly recommend support for the carer ..... or even if they just feel the need for it for any reason .....

It can be seriously hard to see the wood for the trees.
♥️ @Former-Member ....

I do see a psychologist, last appt just over a week ago. Don't know if he is a good fit.
Think it's the going under without me realising that is of concern @Faith-and-Hope.

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Yep ..... definitely worth following up on then @Former-Member ..... but there are carer's support services available, so maybe there is someone, or a support group circumstance, that would suit you better.

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

@JacquesIt was lovely to hear from you. It has been so long.

I guess you know the news about my son which has involved an EXTREMELY stressful few months, but I love him and am proud of him for many of his traits and qualities.

I know you understand and have those experiences with your aunt. Her situation is SAD, but as you said you and your mother do have rights in the situation. Have you moved out or have space set up for yourself at home? It was really bad when your aunt moved in and you did not even have your own bedroom.

I can see your mother seems caught between a rock and a hard place trying to love everyone and do the right thing, even if things are slightly better accomodation wise.

I really appreciate your gentle hugs and HUG you back.

I am SO GLAD you have a decent romantic relationship.

@Faith-and-Hope @Shaz51

@Former-MemberGlad Mr D is out of surgery and doing better.

Hi My virtual mum @Appleblossom

no sorry i missed what happened to your son, im sorry, i hope he is ok, gentle hugs to you and him, i know you have both really struggled. i have struggled to be on here as much because of everything going on in my life.

yes, she moved out and got a appartment, then she got paranoid and she has moved 3 times now, all because she feels people are stalking her, she has a horrible existance and she is so scared all the time, it is so cruel how the government allows people to suffer because it is too scared to help them.

yes, mum always wantes to protect her, i guess it is the motherly instinct. or sisterly love, im not sure, but it is really stressful and upsetting for me personally, our lives are changed forever.

thank you @Appleblossom, my GF is amazing, she is so supportive of me and i am of her. we are taking things really slow and just enjoying the journey.

i hope you are having a nice day today.
