Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hello @PeppiPatty, over here my special friend xx

Hello Everyone

Love to hear from others on the forum if you experience this

My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Don`t know if I am making this up , but i have that feeling ,

Hi @PeppiPatty,

My dear friend, i know the pain of caring for someone with Schizophrenia, my aunt has it and she has moved to our town, it is so heartbreaking to see how they are, and you are right about people giving suggestions, you know what you need to do, he is your hubby and you are so amazing staying by his side, no matter how exhausted you are.

have you thought about reaching out for respite? a day or two just to be yourself might help recharge the batteries. i know when i was a full time carer for my father how exhausting it is trying to care for someone day and night.

hugs my friend. you hubby and Mr Arlo are always in my thoughts and well wishes.

Jacques

Hey @Jacques
If I remember rightly from Friday Feasting your partner has MI. Perhaps here on the up and down thread we might offer mutual support. I could always use a few tips from a dude with LE.

Things going steady with Mr D, getting out the house today was just what the doctor ordered. Pain meds still messing with him, but to me some observable improvement, will see how he marks his mood chart the next day or two.

hi @Shaz51 and @Former-Member

Yes me and my partner both have MH issues, serious ones, but we are so lucky to be able to support each other in times of need and we have made a promise to each other that we will seek outside help if we feel we are not coping, we have also promised to be honest with each other and we communicate everything so their is understanding between us, she is such an amazing beautiful woman and i am so so lucky to have met and fallen in love with someone so special

@Shaz51
