My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Hmmmm ..... our date nights got compromised so badly by wh’s switch that they are totally derailed at the mo .... 😔

”Watch me watch my car and drink a glass of water while you order whatever you like ..... are you finished yet ? It’s time to go home .... we’ve been here 45 mins .....”

Tip for you @Determined ..... that’s not what you call a date night ......

Dear @Determined

Ah yes, memories. ....12 days at University with no self care......

@TAB What is your self care...my fellow West Australian ??

@Determined Maybe self care could just be watching a nice movie on tv ? Or spending 10 minutes on a meditation app.......it helps me so so much to cope with the week. But then, I'm a latte sipping WEstern Australian...........lol

I sit and handsew things to put on bags and stuff, I write my book, I try and stay very busy all the time. It feels like I have nothing to show for this but a person has asked to display my bags at last.

I will own up to this. Jeepers Creepers, I'm owning up .......I have not coped this week. Ifeel like I'm waking up to a new way of seeing my life today.

Mr g is still fairly ............ on his leg and not walking. The Physio said that there is nothing wrong with his leg.

Got to write up a timetable for the weekend.

Hi @PeppiPatty yeah body and mind been complaining this week . Will try and piece a way thru the mind thing and look after body.
Um.. self care for me is time out with tv, a rare book, walking. Trying to do things for others well gave nieces and nephew small hand out yest and friend in need today else they couldn't get bus to work. The money will never come back. The thought behind it may though. Next door neighbours seem to have evacuated, now cute black puss seen often in yard during daylight. Have put food and drink out

@peppypatty my self care is usually playing some music on the organ. Haven't done that for a while as been too busy with study and too tired. Should try some once little people are in bed.

Once uni is over for the semester would like to head out in the boat by myself for a couple of day trips. Before school holidays when the river will get super busy.

@PeppiPatty
It can be a hard slog, there are times I have not coped and tried to kid myself that I was.
Now I am more gentle with myself, allowing myself to feel the emotions and work through them.

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Dear @Former-Member Oh yes, I have been there and still get there. Yesterday, my really really good friend came over to walk the dogs with me down the beach.....

the beach at my home is about less then a minute away.

But Mr g was ......feral......it's so easy to look at him and say..your a b@#$#$ artist,

You are putting your illness on so PeppiPatty can be your slave and thats what she said....

" You are treating PeppiPatty like a slave,"

Oh you should have heard what Mr G said then.

So, I'm outside in our courtyard calming her down, she's got tears streaming down her face...I'm explaining about his delusions and you just have to just go with it ......AND his experience of people around him for years and years acting like her and not taking his delusions as delusions........

And it starts again this morning.

No matter what

we must look at self care. What can we do right now for ourselves.

No matter what, I can say: My friend is okay. I am okay. But I will not be. I must look at self care. Fortunately, my husband is coming to terms on his behaviour right now. It's a daily thing.

Dear @Appleblossom

re: son's gf. I'm thinking about you.......it is good to be wary. GF needs to know 'boundries on Your home & respectfully stepping back.' It must be really hard for you because I can't think your too difficult.

We went to my MIL's place for lunch. She's really into sitting there and telling Mr g how much she loves him. She really really really really loves him.

I don't mind because

both children very pronounced MH issues.

Lonliness.

She listens to my Mum, heaven knows why ?????

In her very weird weird way, she loves me. Even though she bames me for Mr g going to jail about 4 years ago. LOL
