Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hello @PeppiPatty, over here my special friend xx

Hello Everyone

Love to hear from others on the forum if you experience this

My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Don`t know if I am making this up , but i have that feeling ,

@Determined.

Mr Darcy just got back from walking the dogs. His hip is increasingly sore and is impacting heavily on his MI.

He got caught in some heavy rain and has refused to have a shower to warm up (I heated the bathroom for him). I have made him a hot cuppa, will see if he drinks that. I will see if I can convince him to go to the emergency GP session this afternoon - he is booked in Wednesday so do not hold great hope.

Darcy

hello @Former-Member, @soul, @Faith-and-Hope, @Determined, @Former-Member

Last night went surprisingly good , we drove to my stepdaughters first , that was nice , and then we went to the Pub for a birthday dinner with 12 of us which was nice , mr shaz thought it was going to be a BIG thing but it was nice and then we went back to our daughter`s and she asked if we wanted to stay overnight but i knew mr shaz would want to go home

We watched a show called "you can`t asked that" AND IT WAS ABOUT sudicial attempts which brought tears to my eyes as mr shaz talked about his few attempts in his life

and now he wants to take double the anxiety medication sometimes

tonight I am going out while he is staying home

Reassessment might be worthwhile @Shaz51 but can be seen as a roadblock for the patient.

Hi @Shaz51 @Former-Member - wishing you well whilst you are caring for your menfolk. I hope Mr Darcy eventually warmed up and will agree to that doctor appt on Wednesday.

Glad you had a nice dinner out @Shaz51. I have watched that TV series. It certainly has some interesting people on it. I can see why it would have been emotional viewing. Someone on the Forum mentioned a woman who attempted on Australian Story. I watched that one too and it was quite uplifting actually.

I was hospitalised twice for overdoses some time ago - just to the Emergency department for treatment but there was never any counselling. It has become an epidemic unfortunately. Having been there, I can understand despair and how someone's mind sees no alternative. Very sad.

Hi @Former-Member just saw your post now, have been out at friends for the afternoon an obviously had no phone reception.

Hope mr Darcy was able to warm up and feeling a little better. Did you get him to the gp?

Thinking of you at the moment.

Did not push things @Determined, will just see the GP on Wednesday, hopefully something will be able to be done as there are treatment challenges with pain in BP.
