Hello Everyone

Love to hear from others on the forum if you experience this

My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Have any other up and downers had experience with your significant other having to come to terms with loss in relation to aspects of their diagnosis? Mr Darcy had to get a medical for his drivers licence for the first time, he is right for personal driving but he is no longer able to drive the bus where he does some volunteering. On its own, it is not a big thing (he hasn't needed to drive so much of late) but it is another item on the list of disappointments.

Any tips with how to handle situations like this?

Ah @Former-Member

First hand experience - not being able to drive any more is like being stuck in a snow drift for eternity

I asked my pain specialist if I could drive again seeing as I am taking less medication - I gave up driving when told to by my doctor like over 15 years ago - and it feels rotten.

How to deal with it - well - what you can say to your significant other is up to you - but it's very much a case of suck it up - alas - it's totally mouldy - the pits - and I asked my specialist today - and the answer is no - and to go for another licence I would have to go through the hospital she works for

Bl^^dy H^ll - I hate it - the reason - it's so long since I drove and I am getting on in years
