That's the trouble when you can't find the reason for feeling "a bit off" @MissGremlin
People who haven't lived with MI
simply can't understand 😕
Therefore they offer well- meant advice but unless you have experienced long periods of sleep deprivation you really can't see just how devastating it is.
Taali 💙
Go gently ✨️✨️

You’re very welcome @Taali I think firm but friendly is definitely the way to go! I really hope your GP takes you seriously too, especially when you know how much the lack of sleep is affecting you and your sobriety
7½ months sober is absolutely something to be proud of. I can understand why you’re worried about turning back to alcohol when you’re exhausted and struggling with your sleep. Hopefully your GP can help you find something that works before you get to that point. And please remember you don’t have to sit with that urge on your own if it starts feeling too close
I’m doing pretty well, thank you for asking. It’s been a fairly quiet week for me so far, which has been nice 😊

@Taali very true. It's hard enough for us to understand ourselves let alone those that haven't experienced it to try.
I have a busy week, yesterday I was feeling ok about it, today not so much. Just gotta try to take it one step at a time I guess.
Hoping the day goes gentle on us both ❤️.

Yes @heartathome
I've got to be strong.
First to actually attend and secondly to discuss the power of temptation without rising the suggestion of psychiatric hospital admission.
I'm seeing my psychiatrist tomorrow (after my MI support)
But really don't want to discuss it with him. I'm trying to cut back on visits, mainly because of large out of pocket costs.
How are you feeling today?
You up to anything?

Your support is truly appreciated
Good that it's been a relatively calm week for you.
I hope that continues.

Hello @Chasingsunsets thats ok! I have been busy with all kinds of things lately. I learnt a new resting the nerves meditation which serves to strengthen a neurologically sick brain and nervous system after mental illness. Wish I had of learnt about it years ago but its simple to do only requires intention and it allows your brain and nervous system to strengthen and heal. I want my brain 🧠 to be strong! Since yesterday I've noticed a marked difference. Feeling more intact!!! The meditation comes from a medical medium by the name of Anthony William. I use cleanses from his book and have no mental illness symptoms anymore. I'm also going to do his sun meditation all spring and summer. I love getting out in the sun for Vitamin D and usually find it very fortifying, that combined with a specific meditation for the sun invoking all kinds of healing capacities should be wonderful! Loving life!

no re extra meds. big no no @Taali im under microscope for opioid script atm they want to cut it out, its less than 1/4 what was on 2 years ago which got stopped by mistake. they were happy for me to do that so long as someone else signing off on it. also lots drs at local practice are only 'MD's ie not GP's suspect they come under more scrutiny esp if trying to become GP on paper

Hello @Taali I slept a bit better last night, it was broken sleep but I did sleep. Tomorrow off to the GP for free bulk billed acupuncture for insomnia. Just about every clinic locally to me has a GP there trained in acupuncture. Its been a lifesaver. Will go there tomorrow. It settles me for the evening and calms a busy mind enabling me to be lulled off to sleep.

Yes @MissGremlin
I know that while I expect understanding from others, mainly my 2 sisters and my GP,
they really focus on how far I've come.
Not realising that it is AND always will be a constant battle with extremely strong demons!!
Yeah hopefully life treats us gently.
Love Taali ❤️
