Re: Tabaluga's

@Taali Hello lovely how are you? How was the footy and BBQ chips! I like the cheese and bacon ball chips so good but I eat the entire large pack. Then I want sweet rhings.

I’ve been in psychiatric unit for just over a week. It's been hard and my taper here is brutal bht it’s the safest place for me. I had to make the decision that I was just too unsafe at home so I got myself into psychiatric ward. Very tough decision but the right one.

Re: Tabaluga's

@Taali I've seen the elderly abandoned in their homes by family with no-one to talk to. It breaks my heart that they still keep hoping they want their family of origin back to care about them. They go to seniors groups and feel lost and alienated in a group of lonely strangers they would not normally relate to.

At one stage in my life I used to feel the acute edge of loneliness but somehow it left me I dont recommend that path to other people as we are meant to be together as social animals. We are wired to connect.

I know how you feel about your mental health worker as only having a paid duty of care. I used to have a worker visit me and would in any other circumstance have her as a friend but it was a professional relationship so we both abided by that boundary and upheld her code of conduct.

I did get along to GROW and met some lovely folk but did not feel comfortable bearing my soul to strangers. In the past did psych-social rehab but they have now ripped the guts out of the public system so theres nowhere for people to go now really. That is what has been done to the mentally ill

I think as you get older you do tend to wonder but it gives me to pause to think one day people love you and the next day they hate you. I've experienced both extremes for strange reasons unbeknown to me so I tend to hold people lightly and have learned to feel the love of God in my life. Its a constant in my life these days. I fill awash with the love of God. I wish other people could feel that but its certainly not a substitute for human kindness and reaching out to people, especially if a proper kind of intervention is needed.

I used to get Silent Unity to pray for me. They were a christian group and whenever I was troubled I would ring Silent Unity and get prayed for and receive a beautiful heartfelt note in the post from them I am happy to pray for you if thats what you would like me to do. You said you are exploring Buddhism. My last place of spiritual devotion was with Taoism. I dont know how well this sits with you but I usually pray each night for people as the goings on in the world really bothers me. I dont know what is Gods plan for you but ask me to pray for your needs please. Just let me know.

Caroline Myss wrote a whole book about prayer. God hears you. I dont know what trajectory your life is meant to follow. I have a Catholic friend in North Carolina and she has lead a solo life and she can get acutely lonely so I always may a point of saying hello and reaching out to her online. Sometimes we dont know why we wound up a certain way and why matters seem out of our own hands. I hope you will feel settled tonight. I'm about to shut down this computer. Take care lovely woman. We never are really alone but I know having people in your life would make a big difference to you.

Re: Tabaluga's

Hello @Cuddlebear

I'm so glad that you made the decision to accept the psychiatric hospital admission.

It's not an easy road, but very necessary.

I admire your strength in seeking appropriate help.

Please be kind to yourself @Taali 💙💙

Re: Tabaluga's

You may pray for me @SmilingGecko

But I'm unable how that would sit with your God as I am a non-believer.

I too looked into Taoism and found it very interesting and acceptable to me.

I personally think that I am a waste of your extremely gentle and valuable time

I pray to my Creator Spirit, an enigmatic all encompassing ethereal being.

Taali 💙 💙

Re: Tabaluga's

Good to see you @Cuddlebear I wondered how you were. That taper goes for a long time. I was tapering for a few years. You have to do what is right for you.

@SmilingGecko I am wary enough of digital devices, to want to self regulate without them. Although, I realise being on the forums is part of the digital world.

These are turbulent times. Many people I speak to sense that. @Taali Finding people who understand or give is tricky. I have come to accept the difference between paid and informal supports. I am gently teasing the different interpersonal possibilities, in the different types of relationships. Finding what seems real, and who is actually around. I have to settle with random conversations on public transport, but it can make a difference in my mood.

Hope you had a good enough day @DownMoreThanUp @StuF @TAB

Re: Tabaluga's

Hey all, hope your Saturday has been kind to you all. It's been a hot one here, reaching a windy 32C. Way too hot. It's gone from winter to summer within a week. 😳

But hopefully after today, we will settle back down to some more normal spring weather.

Was thinking of you @StuF while watching the Swans this afternoon. Wondering if you were at the game. Wow, what a turnaround in form! The whole Swans team played fantastically. Best they have played all year. Very proud of the boys. And they did it without captain Mills too. Feel so sorry for him.

Yes @Taali I too am a long time Swans supporter. Used to go to occasional game in Sydney and rare game in Melbourne or Perth when there. But since my husband passed 5 years ago, I rarely travel.

Taali, I'm presuming you will be defaulting to supporting Adelaide tonight?

The AFL is not going to script with Freo losing on Thurs. Big surprise there. And Swans causing major upset today beating the Lions.

How about you @TAB are you going for Adelaide too?

My NRL team is about to win in the final home and away round tonight too. I follow the Canberra Raiders. They cannot reach the finals, but have beaten a finals bound North QLD.

Re: Tabaluga's

@Emelia8 NO WAY NEVER!!!

I would never support the crows!!!!

Could I be more emphatic?

What a brilliant win to the Swans today.

I'm hoping that they play the Bulldogs next week at the SCG.

I'm all around the shop with my MI today 😌

They're about to get started on Kaurna Country

Should be a good game, but did you hear the crows supporters boo when the Bulldogs took to the field?

Hmmmmm

Enough said ..
