Something’s not right

Oscillation between two mind sets

Oscillation between two mind sets

Sometimes I feel like I’m on top of things and don’t feel like my trauma defines me and I don’t feel so ashamed and scared. Other times I want to hide from the world and feel like a **** (I’m not going to say the word here since I don’t want to trigger anyone) 😭, I feel so ashamed that I don’t want people to know

Being self sufficient is important but it's also good to have people to lean on! Do you have any informal supports that might be helpful in times when you need to speak to someone? @creative_writer

@amber22, I’ve tried being so independent for so long, developing relationships has been hard

That's totally fine, I think it's really good to be able to be independent @creative_writer

Is there any step you can take to becoming more open with people about what you're going through?

@amber22, trust takes a lot of time to build but only seconds to break. I have major trust issues and you can’t really move past that without slowly taking risks.

I feel terrible this afternoon, I have a full blown migraine and I feel very nauseous. My blood pressure dropped this afternoon

Re: Oscillation between two mind sets

Oh no! Migraines are the absolute worst! What's something that helps you when you have a migraine?

I get them quite frequently too, I am so sorry you have one today! @creative_writer

@amber22, I’m not sure what I can do about it but suffer through the effects. I’m scared seeing a specialist will get me nowhere

I am tired of being sick and I don’t see any way out

I wish I had a solution for you @creative_writer . Yes, we can say to focus on what is working, but then it doesn't make the other things go away.

Re: Oscillation between two mind sets

I’ve been on edge of tears with afternoon. I don’t know why I let it get to me. The physical pain is hard and it gets tiring when it’s a chronic thing. I’ve also finished about with my psych nurse today, if I want to continue I would need to get another referral (it’s separate from Medicare rebated sessions). The problem is, I don’t feel like I fully click with her. I wish I could see my psych more, but Medicare only gives rebate for 10 sessions. The psych sessions have out of pocket costs. The thing is, I’ve already formed that rapport with my psych but once a month therapy sessions is far from being enough. I don’t even know what to do. I can’t rejoin the guided service yet, I have to wait till July to be eligible since I accessed it last year. There are uni counsellors too, and they offer up to 6 sessions, but I don’t know how I’ll gel with them. It feels too hard to get supports @tyme

I hear your dilemma. There's a lot in what you have posted @creative_writer I hear how hard it is to keep switching.
