Oscillation between two mind sets

Oscillation between two mind sets

Sometimes I feel like I’m on top of things and don’t feel like my trauma defines me and I don’t feel so ashamed and scared. Other times I want to hide from the world and feel like a **** (I’m not going to say the word here since I don’t want to trigger anyone) 😭, I feel so ashamed that I don’t want people to know

@Zoe7, sometimes you do have to jump through hoops. It’s already hard enough to be struggling but those hoops make things even harder. I hope they can sort out things with workcover. I also hope this year at school goes smoothly for you 💖🫂

I had a GP appointment today, which went okay, I got the things I needed. Feeling a bit headachy this afternoon and don’t have the energy to get up. I changed out of my active leggings (compression helps me feel more energised) to something more loose and softer and I’m back in bed.

I think I’ve hit the low for today but I have no motivation. At least I’m not agitated, I slept okay last night. I feel like I’m about to throw up and I have no desire to eat dinner tonight even though I should. My stomach feels very queasy. I was reading up on how migraines and mood disorders can be related, doesn’t surprise me. My brain chemistry is fucked

Hi @creative_writer

I am sorry to hear that you are feeling sick and don't have an appetite tonight.

I wonder if you could take some time away from researching things and take a good solid 5 - 10 minutes to close your eyes and rest now that you have gotten what you need from your GP today.

I've found it helpful myself just to shut off my devices and allow my mind and body to rest.

I hope you can feel better soon! You're not alone in this! We are here as needed.

@Former-Member, I think I’m too busy worrying about the future now. One thinks about your future career as a uni student. I only have this year for my Masters degree to go till I’m done. I know now is probably not the right time and place but my mind won’t listen. There is a lot of second guessing going on. Like am I bright and talented enough?

When will this stop happening? I can shut down my brain, I can’t stop thinking. Too many thoughts and not enough words

Hey @creative_writer, I have been reading your posts and hear you. I understand the feeling all too well - being preoccupied with thoughts about the future during your academic journey. The pressure and self-doubt can be overwhelming.

It's okay to have moments of questioning your abilities and worrying about what lies ahead. These thoughts, as incessant as they may be, don't define your worth or potential. You've come a long way, reaching the final year of your degree, which is a significant achievement.

You're not alone in navigating these feelings; your concerns are valid. Take it one step at a time.

Sending you support!

@lavenderhaze, I have been thinking about a lot of things tonight, some of which I am not going to mention on the forums because I want this the forums to be a safe place for others. I have failed people what more is there to say

I appreciate your consideration for creating a safe space on the forums @creative_writer. It tells me that you're a compassionate human being. 🙂

Feeling like you've failed people can be incredibly heavy, but it's important to recognise that everyone faces setbacks. None of us are perfect, and it's okay to acknowledge when things haven't gone as planned. I will quickly flick you an email 💜

@lavenderhaze I feel like a failure for feeling so upset over what has happened to me. If someone does something to hurt you and you hurt over it. Aren’t you letting them win?
