~ The Toolshed ~

So I've decided to create a new space, similar to The Ice-Memery but instead of being silly memes, these are memes/images/words etc. that I've found that are more like tools and insights for recovery. Hence, I welcome you to:

~ The Toolshed! ~

🔧💡🔩🤔

These are things I've found that are insightful, provide psychoeducation, or that have helped inspire me in my recovery journey. I invite anyone who wishes to contribute to do so! It doesn't have to be pictures, it can be discussion, questions, videos, whatever you like! But to start us off, I would love to share a nice lil stack of memes/pics I've found that I thought were really worth the read.

P.S. If you haven't already, you can also check out our Coping Toolbox for ideas and strategies to help you when you need to cope with the hard stuff!

So without further ado, lemme kick us off!

Will just tag a few forumites to start, pls do tag anyone you feel would enjoy or wanna contribute to this thread!

@Former-Member Totally agree that time doesn’t heal all wounds. I think or feel that it’s definitely the (I’m guessing all) major/bigger type wounds that have happened to us (and others) that would never heal.

My real personality is also why I’m only made to be a part of this one and only community forum here, since this is the only forum that I feel completely comfortable and safe at. Any other (online and real life) community spaces out there that is not like the SANE Forums are definitely not for me, and never will be.

I really feel this you two @MissGremlin @Cuddlebear

No motivation no get up and go. I have just started walking and I'm about to excersises at the gym again after a couple of years. Hope I can do it.

This morning, I went to visit a lady who lives here. She is very unmotivated and. Very sad. But I just love sitting here in my own flat with my new dog Peanut and that husband.

Well it's pretty unfortunately obvious to me that her son thinks she owes him something. WHAT ? After what she's gone through ? I feel like running home and hiding under my bed.

With Peanut.

Re: ~ The Toolshed ~

@PeppyPatti think my motivation up and left me. But I did do 4 loads of washing and had to go to the shops. I had to strip my bed after my puppy had a little accident today, so I had to wash and dry my sheets and then remake my bed. Plus side is that I get nice clean sheets tonight, gotta love that crisp, fresh feeling.

I believe you can do it, just ease yourself back into it, you've got this 😊

So glad you have Peanut and your husband.

Hope you have a good night my sweet❤️

@Former-Member that 3rd one is why I'm the way I am and why I always try to help others. I don't want anyone to have to feel the way I have and do.

Re: ~ The Toolshed ~

@MissGremlin I'm the same, as a result of what has been done to me I'm more than willing to help, but It's highly unlikely that I'll ask for help.

Re: ~ The Toolshed ~

@Former-Member yes i struggle to ask for help. Unfortunately it causes me to end up in situations that are far from ideal. But I've also been let down so many times when I've tried to get help so reaching out is becoming harder.

Re: ~ The Toolshed ~

@MissGremlin oh I'm hearing you, I have been accused of having too much pride or ego to ask for help, which is the furthest from the truth. It's a case of wanting avoid the pain and disappointment of not receiving the help when it has taken so much courage for me to ask, or feeling like a burden, an irritation. I tend to live by the saying "Expect nothing and never be disappointed". As this has been the case with family and loved one's on numerous occasions.

Re: ~ The Toolshed ~

@Former-Member you explained that exactly how I feel it. That courage it takes and then to be let down, it's too much to go through and I always feel like a burden on everyone.
